In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Siesta by Weki Meki
Weki Meki are another group that is more relevant than most girl groups but still very underrated. We're used to seeing Weki Meki with the girl crush concept, so it's a little different seeing them do Christian horse girl music lol. They pull it off nicely though, the chrous is really nice and I like the little post chorus at the end.
Sadly this was the last song Weki Meki released. They are technically still alive, but I doubt Fantagio is going to give them one more comeback. I think they're just making them wait their contracts out. I kinda knew this was going to be the last comeback because the video was much lower budget than what they've done before. And I knew if history was going to repeat itself like Fantagio did with Hellovenus, they'd spend years on hiatus. Sadly I was right. Yoojung made her solo debut a couple years ago. Elly competed on Queendom Puzzle and made it to the finale but did not debut. She has also been acting during the hiatus. Actually lots of the members have done acting: Yoojung, Doyeon, Elly, Lucy, Sei. Makes sense since Fantagio is known for their actors. Tbh they should stick to just promoting them and not singers.
