On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Party Rock by Boy's Republic.
There was a time when BTS and Boy's Republic were being talked about in the same article as groups with potential. We all know how that turned. Boy's Republic are one of my favorite boy groups of all time because ALL their songs were just so good, and they could pull off any concept. Middle tier boy groups are just on another level. This was their debut and it is so catchy, they put crack in it.
Boy's Republic made their last comeback in 2018 and announced hiatus (which we all knew was disbandment) in 2018 and released a goodbye song. It's sad because their last song, Get Down, is one of my favorite Kpop songs ever and they gained a decent amount of attention. Truly a loss to the industry cause they were fresh and talented and passionate. They all auditioned for the Unit but only a couple passed. Suwoong made it to 15th pace and Sungwoong was 29th. One of the members actually redebuted in another group. That is the first time I've ever seen somebody dedicate so many years to one group and then re-debut. The group is called Y&W (Young & Wild). The other members have been enlisting one by one. Suwoong was also in the Kdrama called Imitation.
