On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is What The Heck by Sha Sha
Sha Sha are interesting because they were a company clearly with connections. Their debut was written by Shinsadong Tiger (T-ara, Momoland, EXID hitmaker), this song was written by the guy who wrote Growl, and this song was choreographed by Bae Yoonjung, the judge on Produce 48 who has done iconic choreographies for KARA, EXID, and Brown Eyed Girls. The MV is also filmed by a pretty well-known company with a nice budget. You'd think all this would be a recipe for success, but the company didn't know what they were doing with this group. Song is cute though, they just don't make girl groups like this nowadays.
This group got some attention when a member fainted on stage at the showcase for this song. However, shortly after promos they lost a couple members. They were replaced and preparing for a comeback, but the group suddenly disbanded in 2019, a little over a year after promos ended. Chiaki and A Ryeom both have YouTube channels now. Nobody is super active in the industry anymore.
