Hidden Gems #125: Blue Rose by UP10TION

On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Blue Rose by UP10TION

I can't believe I have to include this group on my series because I would have thought they'd be as big as like Monsta X. So many opportunities to make it big but always missed breaking through by a hair. This is one of my favorite songs by them and I think it should have been a breakthrough hit.

This was the last song that OT10 released. Two members went on to compete in Produce X 101 and they BOTH earned spots in the top 11! However, Lee Jin Hyuk was rigged out. I think if they left Lee Jin Hyuk in the group, they probably could have gotten away with the rigging because it was just so obvious that he should have debuted. Since then both those members have pursued solo careers and UP10TION has been promoting as an eight membered group (seven members recently cause their leader is in the military). Such a shame that their label didn't capitalize on those men breaking through to help elevate UP10TION. They could have been the next Nuest, but instead they were the next Hotshot.

I think so too. And they're actually still active. In the past year they've made 3 comebacks. Their promotions are just all wrong. I don't think Top Media is the smartest label in the world tbh. They were just lucky Teen Top was SUPER talented.
