In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Red Sun by GWSN
GWSN are more successful than most nugus on this series, but still painfully underrated. They sound like WJSN mixed with f(x), specifically the 4 Walls era. So they definitely have a distinct sound, their songs are all catchy, and their videos are all very aesthetic.
Sadly GWSN never got their first win, though they did get nominated a couple times. They made two more comebacks after this before the group disbanded. I knew the label was shady when they kept changing their name like 3 times within a few years, only shady companies do that. The group was on hiatus after 2021 and had none of the members had any activities. In January last year it was announced they would be disbanding and that they had filed a lawsuit against their former label. Miya later revealed that all 7 members won the lawsuit. A few months ago all 7 members got together for a reunion. SeoKyung and Seoryoung vlog on YouTube still. Minju will probably focus on acting. Lena seems to be doing solo independent stuff on Soundcloud.
