On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Honeya by S2
This group debuted like the same day as S.I.S, the group from yesterday. In 2017 there were lots of promising girl groups who I could just tell probably aren't gonna go anywhere. S2 was one of them.
Sadly S2 never ever made a comeback. The group competed on the Unit, only two of them passed their audition and both members got eliminated after the first voting round. I'd like to talk about Chaewon especially. She debuted in 2010 under the girl group VNT. 5 years later she started promoting as a solo artist called XOi. Then she started from scratch and debuted with S2 (7 years after her original debut). She competed on the Unit and got DEAD LAST. S2 disappeared afterwards and never made a comeback. Now she is promoting as a solo artist but with a new stagename "Chatone" and released some artsy music. She has also gone behind the scenes and started writing music. She worked on Iz*one's Pretty, Vavi Girl by Fanatics, and Thumbs Up by Momoland. She also gave vocal lessons as a side gig and if I'm not mistaken was the vocal coach for Dongkiz. Really an interesting person. Other than Chaewon, I don't know what the other members are up to. 5 of the 6 members still hang out together somewhat frequently.
