In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Green Light by Troy
Troy were a project group of somewhat successful R&B singers in Korea consisting of Bumkey, Kanto, Jaewoong, and Changwoo. Boy group vocalists just don't sound like this. I love the groove of this song, the chorus is addicting and there's just so much talent in this supergroup. And there's just a sophisticated sound. I wish they got to release more music. Also, just realized this was the same set as yesterday's hidden gem. Told you groups in 2014 loved that set lol.
Troy released one more song in 2014 and then that was it. They each went on their separate ways. Bumkey has been releasing music but hasn't released anything since 2021. He also doesn't chart as high as he did when he debuted. Kanto also has been active as a solo artist, again not dominating the charts. He competed on the Unit and gained some attention, but didn't make it to the finale. He was definitely the most talented rapper. I theorize if he made it to the finale he would have made the top 9. The other two members aren't up to much. Jaewoong has been golfing a lot.
