In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Super Girl Magic by Red Queen
Red Queen were the fictional #1 girl group in the Kdrama idolm@ster. This show literally had everybody: Sori of Cocosori/Mix Nine, Mint of Tiny-G, Yukika, Jane from The Ark, Suji from The Ark/Uni.T, Youngju from The SeeYa, both members of Wings, Coco of Cocosori, even Gowoon of Berry Good played a small role. And then on top of that you have Ari of Tahiti, Sojin of 9muses, Han Hyeri of I.B.I/Produce 101, and Kaeun of After School/Produce 48. Literally the Avengers Infinity War of Kpop girl group nugus. Tangent aside, I think this song is fun. It's nice seeing Kaeun and Han Hyeri as girl group members because we didn't get that post-Produce really
This group was just a project group for the Kdrama but at least we got a mini-album with two title tracks. Kaeun competed on Produce 48 after this and earned 5th place but was rigged out of the final lineup. One of the biggest travesties in Kpop imo. Her career has been nothing impressive, she has done a couple Kdramas and some solo stuff. She is no longer under Pledis. Han Hyeri auditioned for Mix Nine and did not pass her audition, since then she has pretty much given up on the entertainment industry. Sojin continued promoting with 9muses until 2019 when they officially disbanded. The group had a reunion a couple years ago and they've always teaser getting back together for new music, but that never actually happens. Ari continued promoting with Tahiti until 2018 when they officially disbanded. She did musicals afterwards which is where I think she met Ryeowook of Super Junior. They dated for three years and this year announced that they'd be getting married.
