In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Do You Know by Brave Girls
This is where Brave Girls journey started. None of these members are in the current lineup, but I find it interesting how Minyoung's voice sounds similar to the main vocal here. Brave Girls had a very unique vibe when they started out. I think Brave Brothers wanted them to have a regae influence (which they made even more clear in their first comeback but eventually abandoned for more of a typical pop sound of that era). That also might explain why he sold off Alone to Sistar instead which he originally wrote for them. An interesting "what if" moment that would have changed so many things if it happened for Sistar and Brave Girls legacy.

This lineup of Brave Girls stayed together for a few years and made a couple comebacks. In 2016, three members left the team and they rebranded with Hyeran and Yujin plus 5 new members. This lineup was only really active in 2016, then the original members left and we were left with the 5 new Brave Girls. That lineup made one comeback and they went on hiatus FOREVER. In the meantime, one member left the group for health reasons. In 2019 they made one last comeback before they were going to disband. Miraculously, a compilation video went viral where they performed countless times for the military which launched them into stardom overnight. After 10 years, they got their first win and achieved a PAK on the charts, beating a girl group record at the time. After a successful 2021, sadly they could not keep the momentum up. Flaky Kpop fans moved on and they had a huge decrease in sales. The group competed on Queendom 2 which ultimately wasn't successful nor worth their time. A year later Brave Girls disbanded, but Warner Korea re-debuted them as BB Girls. Koreans have yet to show them support and Warner unfortunately hasn't stepped up as a competent label. As for the members from this lineup, Eunyoung teachers pilates now. Seoah is a model. Yejin is a hostess for some shopping channel and occasionally posts on Youtube. Yujin recently got married. Hyeran does independent music and also does some indie film stuff it looks like.
