In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Kiss Me by Baby Boo
Baby Boo is a nugu who I kept up with, but they were never my absolute favorite. They changed lineups all the time and barely ever released music videos because the company was broke. These were the 3 "core" members of Baby Boo who stuck around for the longest time. Also funnily enough, the music video was released two years after they disbanded. Legitimately, I think the company forgot to unprivatize the video
Baby Boo have been all over the place, it's a complicated history that is hard to keep up with and it's full of abuse. After this lineup, they gained two members but they never really talked or had lines or were even formally introduced, they were just kinda backup dancers. Dabin competed on The Unit around this time and got eliminated after the first round. The two members they added left the group and Baby Boo released a song as a trio again. It was probably their best song but no music video. Shine left the team later. The remaining two members planned on going independent with two new members, but I think their company thwarted their efforts. Then the allegations of abuse came towards the company who wouldn't feed them, they had not running water, they had to pay for transportation to events. At first the allegations were anonymous, but netizens did their detective work to figure out it was them. In a shocking turn of events, Shine was added back to Baby Boo with two new members and they promoted their last single. Midnight Theories posted a really good video covering their history, I'd recomend. In 2020 the group officially disbanded. Shine has debuted solo and is now in a new girl group called N-Day. Daon and Dabin never officially re-debuted but they still keep in touch, I think they're very close. Dabin does fitness as well as solo projects and vlogging.
