In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Urikiri by Bonus Baby
Once again including the official audio because it's different than the MV. This one is weird though because it's not an audio error. The MV audio sounds like a raw cut, while the official audio is the final cut. So the vocals sound less polished in the MV. Talk about self sabotage.
This group was controversial when they debuted because the average age of the members was very young. On top of that they did weird things like performing with bibs on and everyone rightfully called the label out. All that aside, I do like the song. It's has a clear Jpop Gfriend inspiration and that music is always uplifting.
Bonus Baby made a comeback a few months later and showed improvement. They then competed on Mix Nine and two of the members (who were also former members of MyB) got decent amounts of attention, with one member even ranking in the top 9 for the girls. Things were looking hopeful for the team. Unfortunately, they are under one of the worst labels ever in Korea, Maroo Entertainment. Every girl group under that label has not survived longer than one comeback and they've tried at least 4 times. They announced the hiatus for the team as well as the maknae's departure. But there is no way this group is ever making a comeback. Moonhee has gone into acting. Kongyoo is still active on YouTube and posts covers. Yoojin is in a group called the Band Aiden.
