As 1, not to be confused with the ballad duo of the same name, was a girl group from Hong Kong. They were active for a few years before their official debut in Korea. The song is written by the same people who did a lot of Gfriend songs and I definitely hear that sound in the arrangement. It's a really good song and I think they're all super pretty.
They really did want to branch into Korea. The leader, Shin aka Ng Sze Kai competed on the first season of Produce 101. She got some attention actually but did not make it to the finale. After Produce 101, As One made their first Korean comeback. Unfortunately it ended up being their last. A couple members left and As 1 officially shortly disbanded in 2016. Shin competed on Mix Nine the following year but we all know how that turned out. Kayan is still active in China. She dances, vlogs and does some music. She actually just had a reunion with As One on her channel two days ago. Nata is a dance choreographer, gymnast, coach, basically everything physical. She's also a mom. Chloe is an actress, a pretty successful one too, she's been in lots of shows and has tons of followers on instagram. It makes you wonder if Hong Kong has more opportunities because all the members who stayed there were successful. Shin, the it girl of the group, tried to make it in Korea and she's definitely gone nowhere. She did release a solo in 2017 in Hong Kong but then she was done. I think she's a yoga instructor now.
