In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Aloha Oe by Cherry Bullet
This was a very controversial comeback, just by watching the video you wouldn't have thought so. Aloha Oe is a famous Hawaiian song written by the final Queen after The US took over their empire. I don't think they were trying to be offensive; Cherry Bullet were in their classical music sampling era during this time and wanted a summery sample for their summer comeback. Whether the sample was in bad taste is up to the listener, but I still think it's a cute song.
Cherry Bullet is still alive, but they're not doing so well. 3 members were on Queendom Puzzle and none of them even made it to the finale. Poor Bora has been on like 4 survival shows and always loses. Their last comeback was about a year ago and FNC seems to be focusing on their boy groups now. Cherry Bullet had a strong start but after they lost their leader and foreign line after their first comeback, that was kinda the beginning of the end for their chances of making it.
