In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Funky Music by Baba
Baba was another group that had SO MANY lineup changes. For this comeback two original members stayed with the team and the other members were new. The girl singing the chorus, Pureum, is the leader. She has a really good voice. Lots of Kpop stars sing with a straight tone, but she has a nice vibrato which you rarely hear. It's a catchy fun dance song on a low budget, not much to add beyond that.
Baba continued to have tons of lineup changes. Only Pureum remained in the group after this comeback. Jinri (who is also a former member of ACE), Seoli (the other original member) and Saei re-debuted in Blue Fox. Jinri (who changed her name to Song Eyaki) stayed with the team until disbandment while the other Baba members left after debut. Blue Fox only released one song. Baba made one more comeback with a former member from Catch Me promotions returning to the group. Then they officially disbanded after all of those members (minus Pureum) left again. They didn't debut a 4th brand new lineup lol. Pureum has given up on the Kpop life. Seoli debuted solo as Jindozin last month and posts covers on YouTube.
