In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Candy Boy by Tren-D. I skipped to where the song begins btw.
After Crayon Pop went viral, there was a little bit of a trend (no pun intended) where girl groups tried promoting via busking on the streets hoping they'd catch their big break. Not many did but this seems like the type of song that could. The easy fun dance with a super catchy song. It kinda reminds me of T-ara songs. Like a T-ara mixed with Crayon Pop vibes. Something kinda cool, the first letter of each member's stage name spells out Tren-D. Also, Tren-D actually did go viral...in Russia. There is a fancam of this song with 4.6 million views and the comments are filled with Russians. In fact, any video for the group Tren-D has overwhelming Russian support.
Tren-D lost Elly after their debut. They released a song as a quartet but it didn't have a music video. Their next comeback had a replacement for Elly, Bona. The song was a remake of a YTC song. Then members started dropping out like flies. Only Ruru and Bona stuck around. And the other original members got replaced. When Ruru, the last original member left, they pretty much officially disbanded. Ruru is very famous with over 500k followers on YouTube and nearly 2 million on Instagram. Tami got married and is a mom. DanB is a model and actress now. The other members, don't really have updates on.
