In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is 1,2,3 by Purfles
Wow, what a debut! One of my favorite debuts in Kpop of all time. There's so much energy and it's just such a banger. The nanana chorus is addicting. The vocals are much more powerful than almost any girl group. The bridge is honestly one of my favorite bridges in all of Kpop. Just spectacular, they should have blown up for their high-energy, talent, and unique sound. And of course they're all hot.
Purfles unfortunately did not blow up after this debut. They managed to make 2 comebacks together. By the time they got to their second comeback it was clear among fans they had no budget left and disbandment was imminent, and they were right. Purfles unofficially disbanded in 2016. Wooyoung debuted as a solo artist called OIL. Geonhee was a former Loen trainee and was a background dancer for Sunny Hill in 2011. I guess she kept in contact with them because in 2019 she was officially added as a member when they revamped the lineup. Sadly they only released two songs since then. Sunny Hill is technically still alive, but they're kinda in a weird state. Fans thought Geonhee was gone along with the other member they added, and back to the original two members. Now Geonhee and that member have been appearing with one of the original members, not Kota the other original member. There's some drama behind the scenes sadly. Eunyoung isn't up to much.
