In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Hip Song by Scarlet
This reminds me of when I was first getting into Kpop. It's super catchy and addicting. This is actually a famous song in Korea that they remade, I remember IOI performed it too. I really like their version, plus is has my girl Kimi. The rapper with the short blonde hair, she's so pretty.
Sadly this was the end of the road for Scarlet. Members were dropping out one by one and rather than rebranding with an almost completely new lineup (which was actually common for nugu girl groups around that time) they just silently disbanded. Kimi actually left Scarlet before they officially disbanded and debuted as a member of Leader'S, a short-lived group with 24 members. She switched companies and competed on Produce 101 season 1, got eliminated immediately. She re-debuted in Bulldok, they disbanded. She went solo under a new company, switched companies and almost debuted in We Girls but their comeback/rebrand got cancelled. Then she switched companies AGAIN and will supposedly re-debut in St ON AIR. Given her track record and her new company's track record (they disband their active groups to debut the new ones, this has happened 3 times already), I'm not too hopeful. I am excited for the group though because Jerry formerly of Tahiti is also a member. Anyways, back to Scarlet: Rabyuel is equally as unlucky as Kimi. She has re-debuted 5 times. She originally debuted as a solo artist called Blue Berry a long time ago before she was a member of Scarlet (note she changes stage names every time she debuts). After Scarlet fizzled out, she joined Pocket Girls, a fancam girl group. Then she joined the girl group Cupid, a low budget group. Then she made a solo comeback as Blue Berry after many years hiatus as a soloist, you'd think she's done with low-tier girl groups at this point, but she was added to Icia, yet another fancam group. She stayed with them until disbandment in 2019. She's still trying to make it though. She has resumed her solo career, writes songs for Kpop artists, and posts covers/vlogs on her YouTube channel. I think she's most promoting with her real name now. The other three members, disappeared.
