In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Bbi-Ri-BBa-BBa by Narsha
This was a decently popular hit in Korea, but it wasn't popular among international fans and REALLY isn't popular among international fans today. This song has probably my favorite pre-chorus in a Kpop song ever, it's so enchanting with her amazing vocals. The chorus has crack in it, the instrumental has crack in it, the concept is very creative with Freddy Kruger outfits plus the plot of a nun , and the structure is kinda unique too. Starts with the chorus, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, then verse 2 has a different melody, pre-chorus, chorus, end. No bridge. Brown Eyed Girls members are simply artists. They are one of the few groups that I would argue make literal art in this industry.
After this solo debut, Narsha didn't really make a solo comeback. I think she even said she didn't like promoting as a soloist and much prefers being in a group. So her solo career was brief. She remains a member of Brown Eye Girls who last made a comeback in 2019. All four members recently reunited about a month ago. She has been very popular on several variety shows over the years. She did get married awhile back. She has been in a few dramas, a musical, and a couple movies. Currently she's got her own radio show and she's a cast member in a variety show called Big Brother Era. She's REALLY done the whole celebrity package. Girl group, soloist, variety, acting, acting in movies, acting in muscials, radio, modeling, YouTuber, she's done it all and experienced success in most of these fields.
