In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is BBang Bbang by Pocket Girls
This debut was controversial for multiple reasons: the sexy concept, the woman empowerment message, the viral fancams, and the plastic surgery. All of that nonsense aside, I actually do like the song. It's a fun EDM track which we don't really get in Kpop anymore. Some of the members are actually pretty talented as well.
Pocket Girls have been through a whirlwind of messiness. The leader (redhead) left only a few months after the debut. After that there has been girls constantly going in and out of the group. They would perform and fancams would go viral. One is kinda funny because they perform this song in what looks like a church. After over two years of only performing this song, they actually made a comeback which also kinda went viral for the women empowerment lyrics. That did not change the fact that members came and went. Their company clarified Pocket Girls are a Kpop group created to promote their models, which is why they have so many lineup changes. One member, Yeonji (the one with long brown hair) has stuck with the group the entire time. She is still a member to this day! She was on I Can See Your Voice too and impressed the audience with her vocals.
