In this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Flamingo by Botopass
Botopass were a controversial girl group because 3 members were previously in a group called Iluv that has an alleged bullying scandal. I was debating whether to include this group or not, but I still think it's a good song and there are lots of members who were not involved in the scandal whose efforts should not get ignored.
The scandal was hard to look past for many people. The bullying accusations happened right before the debut so it had to get pushed back and still experienced backlash. Botopass remained active on social media for a couple years, but last year they revealed they officially disbanded. Ria (not a former member of iluv) re-debuted in a girl group called POA who also disbanded. Mihee (also not a former member of iluv) competed on My Teenage Girl, the show that created Class:y but she did not make the debut lineup.
