On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Hey Leader by Holics
Despite the budget, I found this song super catchy. I really like the saxophone and I like the part they sing for the chorus as well. Only part that is kinda lacking is the verses.
This was their first comeback in years and the had only lost a couple members. They actually went a little viral because one of the members did well on the idol olympics thing and promised to give them some reward, but that didn't end up happening, so people felt bad for them. Sadly Holics disbanded in 2020 due to the pandemic. They tried rebranding Holics as like NCT with rotating members, but SM barely makes it work, this nugu company definitely can't. Also the label is really shady. One of the members was supposed re-debut in a group called AngelRus, under the same label. LPA got in trouble for making the trainees send pics of them in underwear and the CEO's phone and computer got raided by the FBI. Dustin, a boy group under the same label, as went through issues where a staff member was allegedly in a relationship with a member which ended up leading to the group's disbandment. Not good updates unfortunately, hopefully this label is gone for good.
