On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Summer Again by Matilda
I was waiting for summer to post this video. Matilda are one of my all-time favorite underrated groups. I said they had the potential to be the next Girl's Day. There was something special about them. First of all their vocals are outstanding and their visuals are gorgeous yet unique. But what I really liked about this group was their group vibe. They all seemed to love and care about each other. I think that was the special something that many groups lack.
Matilda made one more comeback. They got a little bit of attention for it having a girl crush sound. Then they went on hiatus and competed on The Unit. One of the members, Semmi, went viral, but surprisingly did not make the final 9. Matilda released one unpromoted ballad years later. Sadly they disbanded shortly afterwards. I think they're one of Kpop's greatest losses. Luckily Haena is doing okay for herself. She compted on Masked Singer and won the competition! She's appeared in numerous musicals with top tier celebrities and she's getting married!! The other members aren't really up to too much.
