On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is Sweet Dream by Rainbow
Rainbow, a group we have heard of, but they have never been given the justice they deserved. Even among our small fandom, this song rarely ever gets brought up. I think it has a super emotional sound to it, especially with that piano. Plus the video is super cool, really cool editing.
Rainbow officially disbanded in 2016 after their contracts ended. I think the issue with their popularity in Korea was that they started promos in Japan, partially because Korea was so successful there and they wanted Rainbow to ride on their success. However they were just starting to get attention in Korea at the time. Then when they came back, Korea moved on since there were so many popular girl groups at the time. They are one of the few girl groups that never had any lineup changes during their entire career together. They are known as one of the groups with the most genuine bonds in Kpop. They often celebrate each other's birthdays together and go on vacations together to celebrate their anniversary. On their 10th anniversary they released a song together. Many members are acting now. Only Jisook has stuck with music and she got married last year!
