On this series we remember songs that have been forgotten or were never even given the attention they deserved. Today's Hidden Gem is So Sexy by HAM
This trio has one of the oldest entries for this series. I'm actually surprised they didn't get to at least middle tier because their videos have nice production and the members are clearly talented. I think one of the big things that hurt them was their name. HAM?! It stands for Heart and Mind, but i-fans clowned them hard (all 3 of us). Also, this song is so catchy. It's basically a bunch of choruses. "the oh-oh" part functions as the post-chorus and also as a verse. The structure is like chorus 1, chorus 2, pre-chorus, chorus 1, chorus 2, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, chorus 1. It's really innovative and unique tbh.
The group made one more comeback and disbanded in 2012. One of the members is really passionate about singing. For their leader and main vocalist, Sujin, HAM was her third debut. She re-debuted in a fourth group called BBDE girl under the stage name Li-V. That groups sadly only made one comeback and disbanded a year after debut. Sujin debuted as a solo artist called 3AM in 2017 but hasn't released any new music. Now she is a vocal coach and a YouTuber. This year she reunited with a former member to perform a cover of their debut. I'm sad she never got the attention she deserved, but happy she's still active and pursuing music after all this time. Hyoni is now a BJ on AfreecaTV and sometimes features Sujin on her show. The third member is living a normal life.
