I don't know how I feel about multi-fandom people...

These people probably have years of K-pop on their backs. I think it's normal to be in more fandoms the longer you've been into K-pop. I don't believe they just got into 10 groups at the same time.

Being a fan and being a stan are whole different things.

What do you consider taking "being a fan" too lightly? Anyway I'm glad it's more common to see huge multistans nowadays, most nugu fans are from that subset

idk i've heard from a lot of 2nd gen stans i've talked to that fans back then were much more willing to like multiple groups and fandoms were less clear cut. i guess different people remember it differently.

for me, only stanning one group is restrictive when there's so many diverse concepts out there. i have my ult(s), but i talk about way more groups than just them, so if someone asks me how many groups i stan i'll include groups i am a more casual fan of since you never know if you might bond with someone over them. and i guess there is less "criteria" for stanning groups the more you stan since let's be real, you're not gonna feel some "personal connection" with every single idol you stan or like. but that's okay. it's just music after all.

I have a main bias group that I keep with all the time. And then I have other groups and artists I occasionally check on for updates and listen to their music. There’s nothing wrong in being a multi in my opinion being a fan for over 7 years, I’ve come across lots of groups. But I know what you mean, I myself can only keep up with at max 3 groups. There’s no way someone can keep track of more than 10

I can only stan a maximum of 5 groups and a fan of another 10. I can't stan 50 groups. It's too much.

I think those 50+ group fans are using the term "Stan" very liberally

I think there's a difference between liking a group and stanning.

The first would probably be enjoying some of the group's music and may/my not watch other content such as variety shows and vlives and such.

Stan on the other hand would probably mean that you've opened your wallet for the group at least once or at the very least consumed all of that group's content.

You may like 50+ groups but I don't think its possible to stan 50+

IMO it's really sad if you depend your experience as a fan in a fandom. Does it matter if you belong to a fandom/multiple fandoms or not?

I know several BTS fans (who doesn't care about other Kpop groups) that doesn't want to be in the fandom. And they still enjoy BTS. It's really a matter of preference.

If you like a group's music, you're a fan. Plain and simple. Not a hardcore stan necessarily, but at least a casual fan.

Casual listeners is a term i have never heard of until this forum. Kpopies definitely love to make up stuff lol. Terms like "overdancing", "clout", and "casual listeners" don't make no sense or are just made up.

Bottom line, if you're picking a song by a specific group like BTS to put on your playlist of 50 songs, you're literally choosing that song over countless MILLIONS of options for music. If a song makes it into the top .0000001 percent of the songs out there that you're willing to consume, you're at the very least a casual fan of BTS. I never listen to songs i dont like.
