If they want to dominate than they should stop the BS they do towards BOYSTORY... JYP wanted to debut them so badly and what did he do? Right ... 3 MV after their debut, than he forgot about them till 2022 where they only had 1 MV and a total of 3 songs and inbetween debut and 2022 wich is 4 years the boys barly did anything and 99% of all JYP fans do not even know they exist

JYP is now #1 in terms of market cap (how much the company is worth) out of the Big3 of SM, YG and JYP.

JYP never has any BG dominating the scene in any era.. SM had TVXQ, SuJu, Exo.. YG had Bigbang.. Hybe has BTS.. seems like for a label to dominate they need to have a very strong (number 1) BG and other acts that are doing good too.

Because JYP either had to compete with other big hitters when SM and YG groups were dominating or terrible management of their groups after a couple years like what's happening now. The only time JYP was arguably on top was during a short time when Twice were at their peak.

What i also think makes JYP not look as big as sm, yg and hybe overall is that they always lacked a bit in the BG department, they never had the top bg of a generation for example like BTS, Big bang or H.O.T

So the vocal training at JYPE doesn't change, their Trainers are very brutal, Sixteen, the show where TWICE were picked from showed just how brutal they were but they are nothing compared to JYPark.

You will get stories from any JYPE Idol that has worked with JYPark about how vicious he is when it comes to Vocals.

Anyway, Vocals are dependent on the Song and thereby the Concept, you will find many a Kpop Idol singing in a high vocal that's not their natural range but that's the sound that companies want to hear to make their Singers seem younger.

EXID's Hani mentioned something like that on Masked Singer where her natural tone was suited to R&B but the songs the group had were in a higher note.

Personally, I don't see what's wrong with not having complete total domination and being the dominating, uncontested #1: this isn't a zero-sum game, K-pop isn't the Squid Game (yet!)

People forget, a number of years ago JYPE were falling so far behind YG and SM that K-pop fans en masse were speculating that Cube or some other companies were actually slowly but surely taking up the #3 spot, instead of JYPE. Then came TWICE, and TWICE's success put JYPE firmly on the map again. And after that, they didn't let up but consolidated their position in such a way that they're not dependent on just 1 group or 1 artist. And now they have a healthy slew of active, successful groups.

That is praiseworthy.

Each company has its strengths and weaknesses, its achievements and its failings.

But the name of the game isn't being the uncontested #1 (although sure, that's a nice bonus), but surviving, growing and thriving as the years go on. JYP and his company have been doing that very well above expectation for quite some years now.

I kind of feel you downplay bp in terms of digitals. Bp has a huge longevity digitally since debut even until today with fierce competition they peaked #2 for this comeback they always do well regardless. I don't think any other girl group has achieved that during 7 years

Imo, lack of novelty. They adventure in a industry after SM and never tried to be disruptive. This makes their groups will always sell to the existing kpop fandom rather than expanding kpop reach, which is pretty much what all top kpop groups done to sediment their positions

Twice was from 2016-2018, you are right there, but then they flopped in Korea for four years and counting, so feels a bit silly to still make that claim.

Threads like these really shows that y’all don’t know your Kpop history. First of all YG never competed with SM ever from the early 2000s until basically BP debut. Essentially you have really only two dominate eras in Kpop history. 2000-2017/18 SM domination with stints of YG and JYP dominating. YG with BB and 2NE1. JYP with 2PM, WG, MissA, and Twice.

Post 2017/18 until today you basically have a BTS/ HYBE domination. This time you have brief periods of domination for YG groups like BP and JYP groups like ITZY and Stray Kids to an extent. Digitally more ITZY. But again this isn’t even mentioning non big three groups that did very well for a while like Tara, Kara, Sistar, Mamamoo, and I know I’m missing some other boy groups that did very well in the early 2000s that didn’t belong to the big 3. So again the question itself is false.

Aespa and NCT are the only groups that SM has currently active and Only one of those has ever charted well recently. SM hasn’t been innovative in years. Innovation nowadays belongs to Hybe.
