In 3rd gen, among top groups, the only group that have a lore is Exo and BTS. Other groups like Seventeen, Twice or Blackpink have songs just about regular topics like love. But now, among top selling 4th gen groups, Txt, Enhypen have lores (even have their own Webtoons), NMixx, Aespa sings about their lore. Upcoming Hybe girl groups will also have lores. Why have lores come into the limelight of Kpop and who influence it? Exo? Loona? Bts?
Who influence the lore trend of 4th gen groups?

EXO is the blueprint.
I knew the world of Kpop would never be the same when I first heard the lines:
QuoteWhen the skies and the grounds were one, the legends, through their twelve forces, nurtured the tree of life.

"Fake deep", interesting way to describe it. Funny how you did not evoke successful groups like G-(I)dle.

Why everyone always forget Dreamcatcher when we speak about GG with lore

First of all these are all different things... back in the 2nd/3rd gen concepts were very popular, EXO had a concept, each member had a power or something like that, RV had the velvet and red side, BTS did not have a concept, idk how to explain it but each era had a story, like they started with the school trilogy but with HYYH success they decided to explore that more deeply (its more complciated than saying BTS has a lore), and aespa don't have a lore, they have a universe they're set, I think Loona actually has a lore.
That said no one because this has always been present in kpop, but the fact that BTS could attract many fans with their HYYH era theories probably made companies more aware of how concepts can attract fans instead of just being something pretty or artistic.

Agree with this totally. K-pop has always had concepts and EXO started this universe thing.
But this lore thing became popular in 2017-18 when k-pop companies started studying for the reasons why BTS got this hugely successful. Some thought that having storyline made them popular, some thought it was fan interaction, some thought it was loads of content, some thought it was rap and dance oriented music. So everyone started incorporating these things that were possible to add to their groups. That's why you now have groups uploading so much content on social media, do vlives regularly, more rap and dance oriented music. Some went for this lore thing.

Yep, totally agree. Even BH dragged the whole thing to no end because they thought it was what made fans interact more and get more involved with the group (if you agree or not it's up to debate, I personally don't ).
Just to add one more thing to the conversation, not related to your reply: Hybe and SM's having lores have nothing to do with each other tho, TXT and Enhypen are totally a product of HYBE creating a HYYH storyline for them whereas Aespa's is SM pushing to the whole metaverse thing, considering the talks going around NCT debut this is was probably in the work for a long time now.

If I remember well, txt's lore and storyline had been thought out for a good while, before the group was even formed.
I agree with you that it's hybe's vision being continued. Bang PD's to be more exact.
