Now before you jump down my throat just hear me out.
I don’t think many 4th gen groups will have impact in the future. We’re almost 4 years into this “new generation” and I can only see 1 group being talked about years and years from now and that’s Aespa.
Even decades later people still remember legendary groups such as SES, HOT, and many others from 1st gen.
2nd Gen groups are still well known like SNSD, Big Bang, Suju, etc.
And I’m sure 10 years from now we’ll still be talking about groups like BTS, Twice, Blackpink and so on.
However, as for 4th gen, none of the groups thus far have seemed impactful. I honestly don’t see people talking about groups like The Boyz, Stray Kids or Everglow 10 years from now. The only group I could see people still reminiscing on is Aespa.
So in my opinion, 4th gen Kpop might end up being the “forgotten generation” of kpop.
I’m hoping it doesn’t end up like this and we get some memorable groups from Kpop but this is just what I see so far.
Thoughts?
