This might be just me, but in K-pop social circles, I've noticed that it's all about women empowerment and "stan women" until one woman disagrees with another. So much for feminism. Regardless of OP's gender, the audacity to stan TWICE, a group of women, yet call another woman and anyone who agrees with her crazy for liking BTS's stance about respecting women's rights is incredibly toxic and hypocritical.
OP acting like this, and anyone agreeing with them, is really fucking immature. BTS getting their lyrics inspected from a womanist point of view and making an active effort to be accommodating to their female fanbase is way more than "being decent guys". They spoke on this on live national television that wasn't even in their own country ffs.
Stereotypical nice guys are the ones who will act like they care about a woman's feelings so long as he can take her to bed, and will gaslight her if she doesn't feel like having sex for getting the bare minimum: respect.
This thread is disgusting.
Us Onces do not claim OP.
Chaehyun is the strongest vocalist in the group (Bora will likely be main because of her tone)
I like her tone, but Bora in my opinion is stronger and her tone better.
I hope that Bora makes it, but both their ranks are quite low right now.
And if I was to choose, I would choose Bora because she has been training others on vocals.
She could train the rest to reach adlibs and so on.
It wasn't because of an empowering song, but rather because of bts members' opinion on it which is why this is problematic. No woman should feel invalidated in her choice of attire because of men's opinion, let alone hijab. This is really messed up and before someone jumps on me, this has nothing to do with bts or fandoms drama, there're literally Muslim armies in the QRTs telling her how wrong she is.
Otherwise, I don't want to get into the details about why this is particularly problematic because it's about hijab. I'm sure any Muslim girl here would understand.
Yeah, sorry. I do not understand.
It was just my understanding of the situation.
As I said, male and not muslim.
Direct translations can only tell you so much even if they're accurate. Just think about it this way, it's a saying Muslims use to express helplessness, defeat or regretfulness toward a bad situation (among other things)
Yeah, I got that from Bob.
To be honest I won't even try to understand where this would sit with other Muslims.
For me as a Christian it's just a girl saying she feels secure in it.
I did read the Quran several times and the History of religions , but I haven't lived the culture behind it.
But and please don't get this the wrong way, if she wasn't secure in her wear a hijab, but some song made her feel secure, won't that prove that for her at least it did something good?
After all, God works in different ways for different people.
لا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم
I hope that google is correct.
Yeah I do.
I have the pleasure of sharing the guild with you
Oh damn…. Yep they’re def screwed unless either Polaris puts everything into it, or they find other ways of getting it
yeah mate, they went wrong from the start.
Got a huge loan, made a big announcement for their debut.
The idea was there, and it was a good idea and very costly.
But Covid screwed them hard.
Then their investor pulled out and they are pretty much in the shit right now.
Aren't you a white European?
Not sure why a hijab matter concerns you. We wear hijab as a peace of mind, symbol of faith to God, not for a bunch of men. Not even for our father or grandfather, much less for 7 kafir men.
yeah I am.
I was just saying that's what she feels?
Loona is actually a high selling girl group, and even sold 132k with their recent album
The only reason their company got financial problems is because of that huge predebut project they had that they still gotta cover for
Yeah mate, but they are in the deep shit right now.
Those sells won't cover shit.
A bunch of men who did nothing exceptional for women are the champion of women? Don't make me laugh
what's wrong with that?
It's her hijab not yours?
yeah, cause they were formed on Mnet, Pledis was handling them alongside Stone.
I've been following them since the show.
I'm happy they got a home in HYBE tbh, their latest song seems to be doing alright.
Pledis is shit at GG, but hopefully with Fromis_9 they won't screw up.
I am so happy I bought that one.
I have all my Twice badges!
They took over Fromis-9 recently, didnt they?
They might take over another group too
nah Lulu, they have three GG coming up.
Fromis 9 was inherited from Stone (their Mnet connection, I'm guessing for I-land2)
They have the Sakura GG, the ex-SM director one(they had auditions for that one all over the world) plus I-land-2.
That would be 4 groups already in 2022.
That comments of RM was nice, but calling them "Champions for women" seems excesive. I mean, i would call them like that if they manifest repeatedly againts real women problems. Like gender wage gap, domestic violence, child prostitution, etc. Or atleast in the ambit of Kpop, like sexualization of minors, the different treament women receive in kpop, etc. He is just being a decent guy, that is all.
loved the ambit drop. Doubt many know what it means.
That was a comment of one twitter user who you called and I quote "fucking crazy".
Therefore who is at fault here mate?
You for calling a stranger insane because he or she or they left a comment on twitter?
Or he/she/they because they were inspired by a story?
I guess we can let karma decide.
