What 4th gen BG songs would you count as "legendary" like these 2nd gen songs?

Here are some legendary 4th generation K-pop songs:

"Love Scenario" by iKON

A classic hit with relatable lyrics.

"Dynamite" by BTS

A global anthem with infectious energy.

"Lion" by (G)I-DLE

Unique concept showcasing strong performances.

"Not Shy" by ITZY

Empowering and confident track.

"God's Menu" by Stray Kids

Powerful beats and intense choreography.

There are surely popular and successful 4th gen bg songs but it would be too soon to call them legendary.

None ? There is a reason why some songs even though nice don't become hits, they just aren't legendary. We have plenty of cbs by bgs from big4 and none gave a real national hit yet, let alone become nostalgic in some years when even in kpop community 4th ggs songs are 90% of the talk...

Obviously everybody still has chances to have legendary songs, but for now none.

For now idk if any 4th bg song that "legend" as your list above. Maybe some Stray kids songs? Lets see in the future

note : btw, for Infinite i know Chaser is their most succesful song but i keep thinking Be Mine is their "legend" song. Wdyt?

chart wise, none really and i don't have any that are considered legendary songs although we do have to wait a few years to have a song have the legendary status

I'll put my favourite which is one of the most liked in and outside fandom, in sk and internationally for 4th gen bgs.

Honestly, if you ask 4th gen fans they won't even know the legendary songs either so at this point very very few songs are transcending through generations.

I've had people say Shinee, Boa and IU are legendary because it's a fact they've seen repeated over and over but can't name a single song from them (unless it was a collab with a current popular artist).

Recently though both Taemin and Kai did an excellent job promoting their comebacks so I'm kind of hoping more older idols bring back promotions and keep reintroducing themselves to newer fans.

I don't want to sound rude but if you can't name a song from IU you can't even say you're into Kpop, you're just into some groups. She has been releasing big hits until a couple of years ago for more than a decade.

I can understand not checking some 1st or 2nd gen artists that are not active anymore if you didn't care about finding out about Kpop, but IU is not an example of this.

Quite possible

However since a gen now is about 7 years and 40th Gen is about 250 years and the Senior Singer began to age again after 2019, so it might be a bit hard for her to fight the singers on the year 2274.

Thought gens are 1-2 years these days.

But sure 2274, you can still haunt as a ghost, but stay away from a certain hotel under the moonlight

You're describing a good majority of how people stan in kpop. They stick to their fandoms and only exceptional songs ping their radar from other groups.

And don't try to say this is not how 1st/2nd gen fans were because they were just as insular and closed off to other fandoms. Although I do think GG fans are more multistan so I understand your confusion. BG stans have never played nice or supported other groups.

IU is a charismatic performer but I don't expect her to do full choreos like Nayeon or Jennie which is kind of what a younger kpop stan wants and expects. Plenty of people don't associate her with kpop at all but see her as a regular singer.

Kids who listen to kpop in Korea are listening to their country's regular pop songs. Pop songs are ubiquitous and blasting from every cafe you walk past. It would be weird if they didn't know their country's famous pop songs. That's like a kid from America not knowing who Beyonce is.

International Kpop stans are listening to music that is not widely available in their country. Their radios don't play them, their cafes don't play them. Their song cultivation is very different from a kid in Korea and they kind of want the whole experience of the clothes, stage performances etc.

Still, IU sold out her Western tour rapidly and got #1 in MAMA voting. So don't underestimate her non-Korean fame.

same! I saw them in July for their 2nd LA show- my 1st ever ATEEZ concert and it was epic. Like I knew they were performance kings but damn since the moment they stepped on stage, they worked it and literally put in their all like damn no one's doing it like them........they're dancing like as if its their last and THEIR VOCALS AND RAP WERE LIKE EATING THE ENTIRE SHOW-

and for another iconic BG song, GUERILLA

like everyone knows the chant for that one- "BREAK THE WALL" like that's iconic AF and man I manifested being in the crowd and in July I was able to be part of it!

pardon my screaming of like the lyrics- I legit COULDN'T hold it in (you can hear me scream "IM NOT READY" when the San/Jongho/Yunho bridge starts) and man did I go crazy when THE part started

GUERILLA is iconic as well and I'll fight if someone thinks otherwise

(also you looked much more closer than me- regardless of venue.......I literally had nosebleeds........only way I made my mum also take my little sis along who's also A TINY)

BREAK THE WALL WAS LIKE EPIC- I didn't get MV Break The Wall but I was pumped up for it and screamed just as loud during the concert

a little pre concert highlight for me was when they played WORK and literally everyone forgot that there's like a 5 second pause between the cars appearing and Mingi singing the chorus so it was like "GOTTA,.............*insert silence*...........GOTTA WORK!"
