It's actually smart. The new group is not going to overshadow BTS bfr. They're not even going to overshadow the 4 gen groups but what they'll have is promotion. Just being promoted next to BTS is going to give them eyeballs and obviously the BTS guys will do their dance challenges etc giving them so much exposure.

Honestly, it's a blop but I'm not a fan of these songs that are using inspiration from songs literally 10 years ago. This feels like a beiber reject.

My guess is the next JYP group will be a NewJeans clone and all the song-writing will be done by JYP himself.
I can imagine his reaction as soon as he saw them: a pang of regret rising from deep in his stomach before grasping at his throat, while his whole life’s work is called into question - “What have I wasted my time doing these past years?”
You see, JYP loves shit like New Jack Swing, he eats that stuff up daily and loves telling people how much he likes it and associates genres like Soul and R&B, but he probably didn’t even realise it was possible to make a girl group with all those elements. Instead the company has been wasting its time with Nmixx, a failed AESPA-clone. Chasing a dead trend.
So I think he would have seen NewJeans like an epiphany, and now he’s going to dedicate the rest of his life to making a group in their footsteps. The irony being he wants to be a trendsetter, trailblazer, but he always ends up following the pack leaders instead.
Anyway, just a hunch I have. Take it with a pinch of salt.
New jeans concept used to be fresh. Now it's incredibly stale. He will have to come up with something completely new.

Timing matters. Groups just aren't going to do BP, BTS numbers because kpop is not on the same level and there's more competition.
Also it matters that BP sound was very in when they started. Their songs were instant hits. None of Babymonster songs have been hits or what the audience currently wants.
I honestly think the group is doing fine with what they have. They will build a fandom slowly and steadily with them being huge in SEA. They might have to skip Korea like BGs do.

The girls are very very thin. Like it's jarring to see female idols standing next to regular skinny women. I honestly don't think they have the muscle mass or endurance to perform physically while adding vocals.
The male idols are also skinny and weigh very little but since having abs is part of their beauty standard they are allowed to push themselves a bit in the gym.

I know a lot of people whine about self produced groups but their behind the scenes are always interesting. It's nice to listen to the whys behind the music choices and the lyrics.

I preferred the other group members solos to UP and Air stayed in my head way more the UP so Air it is.

Young idols are easy to control, easy to mold into the perfect idol, and the vast majority of public loves them young 🤢. I don't think the phenomen is going away.

Is a judge actually listening to two parties arguing over whether an unrelated kpop group bowed or not? There's like literally miles upon miles of words by stans and antis discussing bowing in 2025. Insane.
