Best song on the album

Their best song ever is a b-side. You not acknowledging this is a red flag
But I'm going to overlook your flop taste (I'm Unhappy peak? Illusion not much better than Girls!??) because their albums overall are indeed lacking. My World and Savage are their best, but have multiple flops.
Drama is their worst, the quality difference between the title track and the rest here is almost shocking.
But weak b-sides is my opinion of most GG albums I check out and not just unique to aespa.

Girls is a horrific trash abomination of a "song" that is an affront and offense to the very concept of music itself, and I will pray KATSEYE never release a bastardization that even approaches the 7th Layer of Hell where Girls resides
I was surprised to see it's not you that's the reason this thread stared moving pages so fast ngl
SM stans are surprisingly alive and well

Yikes. SM must be incredibly out-of-touch to book a 65k stadium in Mexico for a SM Town concert..

I hate kpop stans it's genuinely so embarrassing being a part of the kpop community

I don't understand the appeal of a million vlogs/variety shows/etc. It's baffling to me that people spend so much free on not just watching it, but crave and demand more. Imo this all just feeds into the already way too parasocial aspects of kpop and is unnecessary. A video and an interview here and there sure! But do we really need new hours and hours ALL the time? I don't get the appeal and its popularity shocks me.
And I really agree with Daisy about chatting aps. I think knowing your place in a celebrity-fan dynamic is important. But in kpop especially there's many lines always being blurred and it's genuinely off-putting. I adore my faves too and like to think highly of them as people, but I don't start "missing them" just because they haven't updated social media in a week.. These things are so aggressively parasocial and unhealthy.

#1 in Korea and #7 on Spotify Global
It-girl indeed

Well, not a proper breakthrough, but Hot100 entry? possibly
If this was asked before last year I'd say no, but Whiplash's (and to a degree Drama's and Supernova's) performance is impressive. Most these streams aren't from the west, but we can assume that they've been growing a lot there as well, and looking at their tour they do indeed have a decent audience there.
The English version of Whiplash shows SM now still wants to push for it despite previous flop attempts. Now, the songs people like from aespa that get good (international) streams are like Drama and Whiplash, so why they previously did a 180 with English releases with songs like Life's Too Short is beyond me. Incredibly strange and frankly dumb move. So it'll be interesting to see how SM now tries to strike while the iron is hot, because this is the best chance aespa has ever had for a semi-breakthrough in the west.

She has the IT-factor

Most likely not much, if any. It does not have that much power. Enhypen also isn't a group with much western appeal or a strong following in the US beforehand.
The only kpop acts that's likely to have a proper moment and be talked about by many is Lisa and Jennie. Enhypen will be more similar to Ateez.

...
But tbh this is one of the best years in kpop

I'm so glad they left the stage. I think that was the only thing they could do at that point to help

How is this even a question

The way it's impossible to utter BP members' names without a weirdo puritan jumping in to slutshame and bodyshame these women is infuriating

And they were flops until 2020 when they started gaining some momentum, only really doing anything really noteworthy since 2022. Bringing up Hellevator is.. lol. On this survey they were the 3rd highest group in the regions except for Asia Pacific (Americas, Europe, Africa), and they'll continue to grow.
