what do u think?
i think we should talk about which song is a hit/national hit here in our country instead of korea
-
-
In my country it's easy - still Gangnam style lol
Also on the second place we have'money' by Lisa
I think dynamite can be third
-
-
Why? The answer for 95% of the countries will be either Gangnam Style or none.
-
-
In my country it's the entire Day6 discography because I say so
-
there's nothing as national hit in my country, everyone listen different music , or if there was there's no way to find out, apple music doesn't have much users since its not free (i think mostly teens, youths and people in their 30s use it), spotify has became available in my country like 1-2 years ago i think so not much users either, and we don't have our own music platform. From kpop i think psy's songs gangnam style, gentlemen, daddy, bigbang songs haru haru, lies, last farewell, my heaven, fantastic baby, bang bang bang, super junior sorry, mr.simple, and some HOT songs (but i dont but lots of people in their 30s mention them and say they were popular), SHINee Hello maybe was kinda popular and has wide reach
T-ara was very popular among female teens, they have also came to my country with other MBK groups and held a concert (besides only MMM & Heize came to my country i think), their song Roly Poly and its choreo was very popular

A hit isn't just playing on the radio. A hit is more than that.
-
over here????i think gangnam style and ddu du ddu du

It was No. 1 for three weeks and spent a total of 50 weeks in the top 100. It did extremely well and everyone knew both, the song and dance.
No other k-act has ever come close to replicating his chart and radio success.
BTS' highest charting song was Butter Butter made it to No. 6 but only for one week. It also charted only 13 weeks in total.
Dynamite peaked at No. 8 but lasted longer (29 weeks), likely because it was the background song for a Samsung commercial.
BTS' Permission To Dance briefly entered the charts at 23, and dropped back out a mere 3 weeks later.

Only psy and BTS have hits as far as K-pop goes in my country. I don’t know how they quantify. I leave that up to the chart experts. I would say that Gangnam style and Butter are national hits but someone is going to tell me their cousin’s neighbors grandmother doesn’t know butter so it’s not a national hit.
-
Gangnam style Dynamite, butter and Money
-
gangnam style, dynamite and my universe here!
-
-
-
-
none
may be Gangnam style but just its main line
-
we are still whipped for Celine Doins my heart will go on, the forever national hit lol
Aside from that the only kpop song ever got with the public was gangnam style
-
-
-
Gangnam Style went viral so it was bigger but then I also heard dynamite a couple times. I am using radio since my country is too small for charting info.
-
only gangnam style, dynamite, butter, bwl and d4 reached some hype, heights and charts from what i can recall.
-
-
Only gangnam style but i wouldn’t call it a hit
-
-
It's probably none. I wouldn't consider even Gangnam Style as a national hit here.
-
I'm in America but I'll go a little more local BWL and Butter were a "national hit" in my state I've heard both songs in several places, store in the mall, grocery stores and even my own dentist office. But to be serious yeah Gangnam Style and to a lesser extent Dynamite were the only national hits.
-
-
The closest I would say in the US to national hits were Gangnam Style (but this was more of a fad/trend, so can that be considered a national hit?) and Dynamite (which was ubiquitous with the Samsung and Hyundai ads more so than hearing it played everywhere..)
There are other songs that were played where I live (notably BP) but if I were to take the country as a whole, just those two.

Also I'm assuming half of BLACKPINK'S title track discography is a national hit in Thailand?
That time I went to Bangkok Blackpink songs are everywhere. It played on the TV at stores and all.
There was this one time where Boombayah ended and the video shuffle to another KPOP MV, the owner came out to change it back to another Blackpink song

since i'm from sea, kpop is huge. the biggest hit is gangnam style followed by boom boom by momoland. another big hit is gentleman by psy and i don't care by 2ne1. 2ne1 songs are popular here since dara was an actress in here before she became a kpop idol. 2nd gen yg acts (psy, bigbang and 2ne1) were popular back in the days. recently, its bts and blackpink.
-
None
-
There are no national hits here. Gangnam style and dynamite were hits in the foreign pop sphere
-
-
In the UK, none honestly? The closest is Gangnam Style, but everyone was taking the piss. Dynamite received AirPlay and is still featured on television and even made it onto my shop’s daily playlist, but I still couldn’t dare to call it a National Hit as the majority around me still dismiss BTS or haven’t heard of them.
-
-
Gangnam Style, that's it.
