I love the Melody and I love the vibes, but there’s a tad too much vocal processing for me.
Obv., a stylistic choice, but I love Han’s vocals the *most*. I wanna hear them!

A) given that you are clearly not a blink, it is genuinely bizarre that you would feel the need to police what actual blinks should do.
B) if you love baemon, go hard, bro. Just stream what you like, but doesn’t mean anyone else should feel any compulsion.
I honestly don’t really get this as a question - for me, personally at least.
I don’t get the idea of wanting to stan a group, say, for example because of their concept but then struggling to get into the music or members.
I’m just listening to music and if a song piques my interest, I’ll check out more. Then if more songs, or the group dynamic takes my fancy, I’ll get more into it. I’m not going to work at trying to force it? If I struggle to get I to their music, then that’s simple, I’m just not going to be into their music or be invested.
Her lawyers really agreed to let her commit career suicide on a global stage. This is unhinged!
Christ on a bike, I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard to read through one thread… and so far my only main takeaway is no amount of success and money stops ppl being f***ing stupid as.
They absolutely DID sing better this week. Having the backtrack there gave them the confidence to perform better in the bits they were singing because they knew it was there to back them up if they lost stamina.
It was a brave attempt to go fully live but this ended up working out much better for everyone. You could still hear their actual vocals…

Ngl, the fall amused me - lucky he had a good cushion to land on…
But, that man was definitely channelling some sort of occult evil on stage today - it completely took me aback? How did he OUTDEMON San?!?
it was absolutely better then last weekend, jongho even told us he went to get vocal lessons and it clearly shows...he did even better then last weekend. the crowd was bigger and the chants were insane...i'm so proud of them!
I feel very proud for them too! They were utterly in command.
(Also, just as an aside, what demon from the depths of hell possessed Mingi?! He was feral! It was so good… )
Wow! That was the best coachella Kpop performance I’ve seen. They smashed it!
In small town UK? Absolutely not - the only Kpop I have ever heard in public have been songs by BTS or the solo members of BTS.
No, I do not currently feel the need to kick myself out of my fandom, funnily enough.
It sounds like a paint-by-numbers classic Blackpink song, so *if* there are blinks that are hating on it, it is purely because it’s not Blackpink singing it.
It’s just fabulous. The solo version of On the street makes me emotional, and Neuron is so layered. Love it all.
Desperate for the other episodes now! Also, the album tracks sound incredible. 💜
what post are you talking about ?
‘Edited in post’= edited in post-production. They’ve recorded this live, then done things like try to equalise their vocals so no-one person is overpowering another. It smooths it out too much for my taste and stops it feeling as pleasant for me. I know this is the industry standard now, but I’d rather hear the raw take.
I mean, this was lovely, and they are adorable in it but still am really frustrated by how much they smooth things out in post. You just lose so much dynamic interest… you promise me a live recording, give me the good stuff.
I know. I am old and grumpy.
I am so so hyped for this. What a man.
It was a slow-burn and then a sudden, intoxicating freefall into full-blown adoration. I became aware of BTS in about 2017 when I started getting recommended random Kpop reaction vids, heard a few songs I liked, was really impressed by the choreo, added some songs to my playlist and kept listening to them but never did a deep-dive … I noticed them getting mentioned more and more, was amazed when I saw they had London concert dates and were on huge UK talk shows and I had one eye half open on their growing popularity. I remember being very impressed by Namjoon’s eloquence and his speech at the UN and looking up a bit more about it and him.
Then 2019 happened, and they released Boy With Luv/ Persona. I saw all the hype for the release and they were everywhere. Now, I didn’t like Boy With Luv much. I hate Halsey’s voice, had no idea who she was previous to their collaboration and didn’t think the song was a patch on what I’d heard of theirs before. However, I was then in hospital a day two after it was released and was stuck there for a week and I just kept looking stuff up about them, wanted to know ‘just a bit more’ about them individually and BAM. Full-on neuro-divergent hyperfixation in the space of a few days. Every little thing I saw of them or about them made me want to learn more, see more, hear more. I was utterly blown away by their work ethic, lyricism, technical skills and bond. I started watching Run BTS and liked the escapism of the silliness of it all. I watched poor quality streams of live concerts and marvelled at their command of such enormous crowds and their willingness to be emotive and vulnerable with each other and with their fans.
I’ve watched them over the years and seen their characters mature and change and their differing approaches to music-making and performance and their confidence in exploring different ways of working and presenting themselves. I don’t mind if I don’t like what they put out - I feel happy that they are able to express themselves and keep moving forward.
There has been a lot of joy and laughter and sorrow and comfort over the past seven years. Wouldn’t change a thing.
