Why do I need awareness in the context of this thread? I didn't even tag ARMY, so anyone who cared to share was welcome to provide their insights as a fan, and anyone who doesn't want to give their time or energy to it didn't and still doesn't have to.
Also, the person in question DID aggressively come for me personally, so again, in the context of this specific thread, I'm not sure why you're directing your attention to me, when I had a very reasonable reaction to some hostile fan telling me to mind my own business.
And lastly, I made this thread precisely BECAUSE I am not up to date nor do I generally care about what's happening in your fandom. This specific issue was getting a lot of discussion outside AKP, so I came here to better understand why it's happening.
Trust me, nobody here is a better instigator than me. If I wanted to stir up trouble and provoke ARMY, this thread would've been handled way differently.
If you can’t see how these responses are defensive, then there’s nowt I can do about that love. I’m talking to you because you made the thread and brought up the topic and I’m one of the few ARMY still standing here and because we are now in a conversation, Why wouldn’t I ‘direct my attention’ to you? I also directed my attention to Fortuna, Merribelle and the person who asked about the Jimin cow thing, because those were points that I find interesting or worth discussion.
For me, as an ARMY, my understanding of why it’s happening is: ‘Is it? OK, there are idiots anywhere and as an ARMY I do not care to engage with the idiots in question to find out why they behave that way.’ That’s my insight in response to your original question, and I’m ok with it.

The reaction to a simple and direct question was over the top. Who else am I going to ask but the people who know the fandom the best? The concept of a fandom actively upset or even apparently sabotaging the efforts of a member of their group is foreign to me.
And if you're referring to me specifically, I know more about the idiots in your fandom for a very obvious reason we don't need to get into here. We both know what that reason is.
Yama, dude. Do what you want. But just also be aware that there are certain people out there who strive for peace and enjoyment, myself included, and a large section of ARMY is like that. Not everyone is always coming for you personally so you don’t *always* need to be on the attack, much as you think it might be deserved… and there is no harm in saying - as a point of interest - that one might find it a bit unusual for someone who is not even in one’s fandom to be more up-to-date with the ins and outs of it than one is oneself.

OMG! Crying! Do they!? Literally never seen that. I guess because there’s a famous baby picture of him dressed up in a cow outfit and he recreated it as an adult. That is awful and weirdly specific and hysterical all at the same time.

While I don’t disagree that you can talk about whatever the hell you like, I also can see why fortuna would say this - I said much the same, as did merribelle. I’m ARMY and you know or see or comment on more about the idiots in my fandom than I do… There is a certain joy in curating your timeline and zoning out the sh*t.
I genuinely don’t think any fandom is without weird solo stans, particularly at times of group hiatus like this.

I remember thinking Kpop concepts were getting a bit stagnant, and I also never expected to get into the music of kids young enough to be my daughters.
With their first releases, I was blown away by how they and their team tapped into a nostalgia and vibe I certainly wasn’t really aware I was missing and I loved seeing how these kids managed to really turn the industry on its head from what it seemed like people had assumed would be successful and necessary for popular debuts.

I can remember years ago when I first joined, being very impressed by your devotion to them and willingness to share about them to anyone who expressed interest. So, I am very impressed by their talent, and enjoy listening to them and am always willing to listen to new releases or check out their performances. They’re not on heavy rotation but they have some straight bangers which I’m always going to enjoy.

I don’t think I would have the ability or charisma to play any of these ones for an experiment!
But, in the highly unlikely fictional situation that any of these extremely attractive, extremely successful, seemingly pleasant people were to ask someone like me out, and I were single , then I’d see no reason not to go on at least one date with them, just to see what it was like!
