Do you have any big regrets since becoming a K-Pop fan?

Only that I wish I got to experience the 2nd generation. The only thing I knew about the 2nd generation as I was only a teenager then was SNSD's The Boys and Run Devil Run (mostly cause I know Kesha has a demo version of the song)

Mr Mr being my first SNSD comback as a sowon . I wish i had discovered them sooner. At last before IGAB comback 🥲.

And also not seing them in Japan concerts .

Didn't see Twice in London last September. It pretty much a choice between that and (G)I-DLE in Amsterdam and I got my family in Amsterdam so I felt I had to go with (G)I-DLE.

I guess not going with my friend to the Born Pink tour. She had 2 tickets, but I decided not to go and she sold her other ticket. Looking back, I regret not going with her.

Not seeing Big Bang during their MADE tour in 2015. I wasn't in the right place financially at the time to fly to another city for their concert, and I thought for sure they would go on a 10-year anniversary tour to the U.S. the next year. Now there will probably never be a complete Big Bang concert ever again and, even if there were, idk if I can in good conscious support them in concert either. I saw G-dragon in concert a couple years later but it really wasn't the same. Sad that I missed my window.

Yes, not being able to go and watch live concerts from my favorite artists.

Internally, I wish I did, but logistically, I couldn't.

Didn't went to monsta x's concert when I could because I didn't bother with planning. Little did I know it would be my last opportunity to see ot7. One comeback later and wonho left.

I think it was not seeing DPR when they came to Calgary, I was facing a lot of mental health issues at the time and some of the people who helped raised me at the time passed away when they were set to come, I was also to embarrassed to tell my Mum that I liked Non English music. But it was mostly because my step dad was pretty racist at the time to and I felt embarrassed overall.

I discovered BigBang in 2017 and was a big avid commenter at the time, I even managed to get a MADE Tour T Shirt at the time and could have seen them but truthfully I had no way to get there without my parents help but I would have loved to.

I think another thing I regret is really hanging out (online) back when I had twitter and meeting some nice people who I didn't realize were turning into Saesangs. Buying stuff, slowly starting to share photos that made me uncomfortable, although I still don't know if the photo of Jimin and JK at some kind of disneyland?/park and the on set photos of Airplane Part 2 were truly real it made me worry a lot about them and how they could get those photos before the song even came out officially were nerve racking. I tried to talk and voice my concerns but I was glad I never got dragged into that and deleted everything. (Edit: There was also pictures of the Fake Love set floating around to, there was a couple of idols on planes but I can't remember who they were. It was a long time ago but it was so so creepy!)

In general getting twitter and reddit were some of the worst things I ever did, maybe it was because I had to many accounts or were only hanging out with people that didn't like the fact I enjoyed more then one group (I realized now that the ATINY who was mean to me was going through some stuff and acted out on me and she ended up getting off of twitter to) but I feel like I played it up more in my head. Oh I followed this group before anyone else, oh I wrote about this group before anyone else. I guess it was my 'ego' (no BTS pun intended there), but I think stepping away from the fandoms and enjoying it like this has made me feel a lot better.

What a great question, I haven't thought about that all for a long time.

Yup, but I started stanning them in like November 2020, and sometimes I wish that I stanned them in 2018 or 2019.

I think I regret buying albums.

Theyre kinda useless to me since I dont really use anything in it. I buy it just to support by faves but half of the amount I spent on it went to shipping cost...

I rather had spent that money on other things instead like more merch or better concert seats, etc.

That and also once I start dating, I'll likely have to get rid of it lol

I regret not stanning EXO earlier. They were introduced to me by friends back in 2013 and I just didn't give enough importance for years until they caught my attention in 2016

Years ago my late little sister planned to bought BTS concert ticket. She asked me to came with her but unfortunately i cant go. Im still regret it. She said it was the best concert ever!

I began to interact with the Kpop community in 2018 and I kinda regret it.

I also waited for several years for truly stanning Mamamoo and I should not have because I was into them way before I decided to be their fan. Same for IU.

It's true that you might personally have benefited more from more 'productive' hobbies, but do you really feel that you didn't learn any skills from your fan activities? Especially things like doing subs and translations, managing a fanbase etc

Quite frankly, I just wasn't a big enough K-Pop fan when 2NE1 did their concert in L.A. back in 2013. In hindsight, I really wish I had seen them live at their peak when I had the chance.

I had a much more realistic opportunity to go to Big Bang's tour, but I just wasn't in the place mentally to commit the time and money to go and turned down an invite back in 2015.

Those are easily my two biggest regrets, because I'll never have a chance to see them perform in person as a group probably ever again. Well MAYBE 2NE1, but 100% not happening with Big Bang.

My first and only concert was actually BigBang in 2015, my sister took me I was like 12 or 13 at the time and it was honestly the bee's knees. But yeah I feel for you, 2NE1 & BigBang were honestly peak - so much so that I didn't bother with Kpop for a whole 6 years
