I wouldn't doubt knetz would side with Hamas only to annoy the idols
-
not unless they start educating people about the military industrial complex. if they don't even understand the basics then they're probably better off just staying away from it-- and even if they did, they're celebrities and their main job is to entertain people so it won't really do them any good to get involved in politics. if they really cared, they should just donate food or something to all the innocent people caught up in this banker war
-
-
lol it's better for their sake and ours that they keep their mouth shut
-
No matter what their side or their take is it's gonna be simple and get overanalyzed and get them dragged for it.
To make a reasonably uncancellable statement it needs a long and complex analysis of everything that's at stake for both sides which I don't think our faves are capable of doing. Even if they are, people are too stupid to understand anyway and will misconstrue what they say and cancel them for it.

I want them to shut up about politics

No, they should keep their opinions to themselves. They should comment on nothing political. Nothing.
As for hollywood, they pretend Palestine doesn't exist. It's like they aren't allowed to mention it. We even had situations where celebrities posted "we pray for israel" using pics of gaza. One would think they'd make another post with praying for Palestine too, seeing the devastation on pics they used. But no. They deleted it and posted new pics but this time the right one.
And then Hollywood wonders why nobody takes them seriously anymore.
Yes, kpop idols should keep their mouths shut
-
Nothing. For the sake of their image and career.
Talking about how I'd feel about it, I would most likely be disappointed regardless of their take. Because media has been brainwashing the population to speak up about this situation as If It's brand information just because, this time, Israel was affected. And It would just expose them as a bunch of airhead with sheep mentality. If they genuinely cared about war to the point of wanting to use a plataform for good, they'd have spoken up about what Palestine has been going through in the last decades before.
-
Any idol supporting the apartheid and facist regime of israel is a instant cancel for me
-
No kpop celeb has ever taken accountability and backed any real issue. So why would I expect them to do it now. They will only take stances that are universally accepted like war is bad etc with no real consequence.
Kpop idols are not meant show real personalities to stand for anything they’re just puppets to front a perfect image and there is no expectation so far to this.
You cannot truly care about things and be neutral. And kpop idols care more about their public image than any real issue.
-
-
My position on if kpop idols should talk about political issues have evolce a lot in the past months
Idols have always been presented as role model to look up to that's why kpop companies try to picture the most perfect image of them
So to me if you really want to be a role model talking about something as big than the conflict between israel and palestine is normal
You should use your voice and the amount of people you can reach to spread awareness
And i'm talking about awareness and not educating them or side position
Just a statement saying " see what's happening in middle east shouldn't happen the life of israel or palestinian civil shouldn't be in danger"
Nobody is asking them to side with one country
Or try to educate their public on the dozen of years of this conflict
But just acknowledging that this is not right is enough to push people to educate themselves then if they want and advocate to end this
-
I'm reserving judgement until I hear what Ja Rule thinks about this. Curious about his take on the war too while he's at it.
Edit:
Apparently he's said it's ok to be silent on the issue. People can relax now.

I don’t think many or anyone will.
And if they do, they will take a balanced approach to it, which many will still consider Pro-Israel and will try to cancel will get them in trouble.
But since South Korea don’t have that close connection to either country and deal with their own political issues, I doubt they will have a strong opinion on the matter.
-
hell no, most of our faves are genuinely just plain airheads who live in their own worlds, taking selfies is one of their main daily priorities, just like ricky gervais said most celebrities know nothing about the real world, they live in bubble. The ones with more possibility to take a stance are the companies and we know which side they will choose.
-
-
For what?
They are entertainers it's not their job.
-
Only if they're fully educated on the subject itself tbh
it only lead to controversies due to their lack of knowledge ://
and what exactly is "education" and "knowledge"? Who will teach us the truth?
There are two sides, every side thinks differently.
Look at what is happening in russia/ukraine war. Only the collective west is supporting the war directly, other countries are either neutral or understanding of russia.
Everyone picks the side they think it's right. The "right" side for others is "wrong". Which is the reason they should say nothing. If they want to do something they should just link to organizations their fans can support to help victims of both nations. And that's that

Users here are talking about idols' education qualifications, but tbh we aren't even sure if their curriculum ever had a topic about Israel-Palestine history. I mean I didn't. Even if they did, it was probably a biased one.
I personally wouldn't judge them for their opinion because I'm not much aware about the conflict, but I do know they can cancelled even if they take a neutral stance. So for the sake of their career at least, I hope they don't.

I don't know why you all are so casually and comfortably dismissing and insulting idols' intelligence as a collective but anyway, I doubt anyone actually would comment, or that companies aren't actively advising their idols against commenting on the issue. But I'm personally prepared to cancel any fave of mine, no matter who they are, if they support the genocide of Palestinians.
-
Very few people have relevant things to say about the conflict, and your faves are unlikely to be among them. Let them simply be idols; their plate is full already with the singing, dancing, modeling and stuff.
