The dangerous part, is that eventually the NJ girls will also get to old for her "concept"
Yep, I thought the same thing since day one. Youthfulness is a tricky concept because you can't run with it for long.
As for Cookie, I don't know. I think deviance is in the eye of the beholder as well. If you choose to take the official interpretation at face value, then the song is not much of a problem. Fine, cookies are CDs, I suppose it makes sense.

It must be a weird situation for NewJeans members to be in.
On one hand, there's probably some sense of loyalty and gratitude towards MHJ because, whatever way people put it, she made them; she made NewJeans happen, and the group's success has a lot to do with her vision.
On the other hand, this shit is going wild and MHJ has a lot to do with it as well. The way all the beans are spilled in the media is crazy. It seems so reckless. And obviously the girls don't want their career to be damaged in any capacity. Hopefully they're not too emotionally challenged right now.

5th gen got no chill

I could be wrong but wasn't Cube the one that didn't choose this as their title even though the girls preferred this song (or maybe I'm just making this up)
I'm not so sure about that. I think it's only something Soyeon had in mind at one point. I doubt it's something that was really considered, plus the group wanted something big to open their concerts with, hence Super Lady.

Babymonster is definitely the most talented 4th/5th gen YG girl group.

the new senior singers

It sounds quite generic to me. Nothing like their usual style.

I believe this is their first music show win this comeback.
Not at all, Super Lady won four trophies (same number as Oh my god for reference). Fate is their first b-side to win a music show though.

predebut stans prove the required number is zero

i am not sure how official debuting works, but she had a few Solo songs a couple Years back that I liked, I guess they don't count?
I suppose they don't count because it's something she did on the side and didn't promote, except for a few performances in China. Kinda like Soyeon's first songs (Jelly; Idle Song) which she didn't promote and were mostly put out to keep fans anticipating the group's debut.
What surprises me is that Minnie was supposed to have the next official solo debut. No respect for the unnie!

The fact of the matter is, the bigger companies wouldn't have been interested in the members in the first place. They usually have a definite type and if you don't fit the concept they have in mind, you're out.
(G)I-DLE's fortune came from the fact that Cube didn't have a clear vision of what they should do with the group (hence the delayed debut). That's how Soyeon successfully inserted herself in. The company did not know how to make the best of the members' charms and individualities? Well, Soyeon thought she did. And she proved it.

But my question is...do you personally actually like the song? It's nowhere near what's trendy for Kpop or even pop in general. Or are you just hyping it up because of the charting
It's not my favorite. I like most of the other songs better.

Fate was a message from Cube and Kakao to the group while they are on holidays, that they need them or they will be mid.
What does this rambling nonsense even mean?

The most annoying thing is all these people who claim they used to like (g)i-dle better back then, when they were more artsy and delicate, but now they sold their soul for success with trash music or whatever... Strangely though, these people were nowhere to be found 3 years ago.

It definitely feels like (G)I-DLE always needs to prove themselves again and again, as though their previous successes were some kind of flukes.

I think another songwriter/producer award for Soyeon would be fair this year.
