It's criminal to do that to female artists
No wonder companies are debuting them as infants, to keep exploring them with renewals

everytime TBL incompetence is talked about I am reminded of this interview ....

You are right, idols tend to look like characters from fairy tales.
And yes, tiktok, instagram, youtube is definetly misused by a lot of people. Misused as not used as tools, but as dopamin machines.
I mean, those composers are great. 😎 And I'm a little proud that two of them were Hungarians.
But I find it interesting that you like three composers born close to each other and sharing artistical views.
On another note, my love for kpop began because boy groups and girl groups were not that great on the West. Kpop does combine voices way better and I enjoyed that. I always loved colorful instrumentals (and I think about voices as instruments too).
Lol you're hungarian? Be proud, they deserve.
Yeah, I care a lot about the essence, so in the end my artistic tastes are consistent.
Oh even if you don't consider the vocals, the producing in k-pop is so interesting once you see the instruments divided in layers:
let's make the beat from TWICE - LIKEYI actually really like this song~Thanks to anyone who watched my previous one of these, I keep thinking "oh I should make this a series" but then I end up sp...youtu.beEven a song with few beats like Anti fragile, someone told me it's not easy to make it work just because of that

WARNING FOR RANDOM READERS: this post is a little judgy I know. I'm a little sorry but still will state my opinion.
I don't know if I understand your question but I will try to answer to what I think you asked. Feel free to correct me if you questioned something else.
I think people in general listen to a few genres and most of them only listen to popular music. Classical music lovers are subculture, contemporary music have crickets as audience. Which I find sad but that's the truth.
I think many musical genres have it's role in our life. Popular music tends to mirror the emotional and mental state of our current time, it reflects to everyday politics, problems and trends, but in a limited and very short time with easily accessible, but limited deepness to it. Depending on one's personality and world view they choose some pop genres fitting their taste. I don't think that many kpop fans are just kpop fans, but the loud and toxic part of the fandoms does tend to be a little superficial regarding their music taste, they like the perfectionism itself in kpop. They want: good fashion sense, cool outlooks, perfect faces, perfect attitudes, cool dances, etc. and they are sooooo judging sometimes, it's scary. They will call idols ugly without a heartbeat even though all of the idols are so much more beautiful than general people because of the diets, cosmetics, camera angles, photoshop, plastic surgery, etc. But to be honest, I met many people who choose kpop for this and choose other genres for other interests so in the end they are not superficial, they just don't look for the vocals in kpop, they look for inspiration for outfits, for beauty hacks, for coolness, etc. (And again, I am stereotyping here a little, I'm sorry for that.)
What bothers me though is that today's society have this inability to experience someting in depth and for a long time. Classical music tends to require you to reflect for 2-3 long hours (or sometimes even more) about more complex topics (sometimes only more complex by how elaborately it approaches the same topics that popular music do, sometimes because it is more daring or more philosophical than popular music). It's language is less easily accessible or quite trying at times but because of that it gives you back more. I don't think that it's always more valuable than pop music (or it's more needed than pop music) but a 45 minute long symphony or a 3 hour long opera of course have more to show and discuss than a 3 minute long song. And it's a different kind of experience, it's like kpop = a poem, classical music = a novel or a book. In music. It's oversimplification but I will go with it for now.
On another note, classical music has long history without all the cheat codes of popular music so the performers are more well trained. Audience is way more critical too so they have no choice. And they do wonders sometimes. But many people don't have time for those wonders these days... well, I guess it's my problem if I have a problem with it. But it makes me sad.
At the end of my monologe: I think it does wonders for people to listen to both popular music and classical music and experience the different qualities they have.
Oh they have time, but it flies fast sscrolling on Tik Tok, YouTube or Instagram.
I don't know a lot of classical music but I like some like Stravinsky, Liszt and Béla Bartók.
Anyway, for k-pop I think the idea is what you said, the companies sell an idea of perfection and the fans in return expect their idols to be perfect.
I see k-pop idols as something like modern myths, like in the west we have Marvel heroes - even though it's also losing some of it's reach. So maybe something else will come to replace it.

Unpopular opinion: you all can only cry about vocals if you are into opera. Put on some Verdi-Pavarotti eargasm and you will all know how real vocal power houses sound.
(Note: it's kind of a joke because of course idols should have the basics and everybody should enjoy what they enjoy but it's kind of serious because opera singers tend to be way more talented than pop singers but people don't want to give their time to more serious genres. A 3 hour long opera kills the attention span of a lot of people. Even though italian bel canto is a heaven for the tune-lovers. Ah, Traviata for example has sooo many beautiful melodies.)
I am ok if someone is eccletic and listens to many genres, alright then it's acceptable to judge k-pop vocals harshly
But are most of k-pop fans like that? Most do that only to be annoying - which can be fun sometimes, I admit

I think they'll just stagnate
It's not like 5th gen has impressive numbers
