I keep seeing people call 2021 a bad year overall for kpop but I'm curious if people are at least satisfied with their bias group's music?
Personally, I am.
Twice had Kura Kura, Taste Of Love (Alcohol-Free), Perfect World (song and album), and The Feels all of which I really loved. Their upcoming album also looks really promising so I'm hyped for that. Maybe Alcohol-Free wasn't my favorite by them ever but it's fun and it grew a lot on me, really catchy too. The Feels was an automatic win and easily my favorite kpop group English release even with bias aside. Perfect World and Kura Kura were great and at the top of their Japanese releases, I think I even rank them above Alcohol-Free which is rare for me to prefer kpop Japanese tracks to the Korean one but Twice kill their Japanese discography so no surprise really
Seventeen had Hitorijanai, Your Choice (Ready to Love), and Attacca (Rock With You) which are both my favorite kpop albums of 2021. RTL as a title track didn't really do it for me (it was fine but nothing that made me go crazy) but I love RWY and is one of the few times a SVT title track ranks so high on the album for me. The albums are great, the bsides continue to follow an upward trend of quality since An Ode. Hitorijanai is surprisingly my most played Japanese song by them, it's just really feel-good and nice to listen to
