Currently, who has the most potential to succeed in their solo in 4gen??

Out of that list honestly, only Soyeon.

She's the only one that actually has the factors and drive to seem to WANT to be solo, and maybe the other Idle members.

Yuqi, Minnie and Yunjin already have solo stuff out there.

Karina and Winter will have major solo music careers in Asia. NINGNING will kill China

Winter will go OST and pop princess route while Karina will go edgy sensual sexy soloist, both have huge fandoms in China Korea and japan

Idle is a weird case cause Miyeon's OST charted higher than her own solo so it makes me think that if she releases a ballad next time it might do better. Other members don't have any potential though.

No one. I mean they could probably do well in SK or in their respective countries but I don’t see any of them having impact outside of that.

Wonyoung and Karina will chart top 20 easily on Melon Daily.

Yujin will chart top 50 on Melon Daily.

Chaewon, Winter and Soyeon will chart top 100 on Melon Daily.

I have a hard time assessing NJ individually in Korea. I know maybe more than one will chart top 100 and someone could even chart top 20, but i dunno who in particular.

Karina and Winter have the popularity in Korea to be at Taeyeon’s level. Ningning is already quite popular in China and has performed several times too. Even Giselle’s 2hot4u was a smash hit with Mys she has so much potential Also want to mention Hanni from NJ, she has amazing vocals, dance and also quite popular both domestically and internationally

I wonder if WY will even want to go solo, but she does sing a lot on IVE songs, she's basically a lead vocalist in terms of line distributions. Her cbar is even bigger than Yuqi/Karina/Ningning so I feel like she would have the biggest sales if she went for it.

I feel like Yujin/Karina have the best mix of being super popular and being all-rounders, so I think they definitely would do very well.

Soyeon is called many things by many people, but she literally has the best stagecraft and one of the best female kpop performers EVER, let alone just in gen4.

Soyeon, yuqi already have solo stuff which isn't really the most successful and known, nj girlies aren't ready yet, wonyoung isn't popular because of music. Maybe winter also has some chance, but Karina is the best choice

Depends on what people consider successful I guess.

As always, I think it depends on timing, luck, concept and song choice, and also having a big individual fandom.

Those with the most potential to hit big in Korea at least are IMO; Karina, Winter, Wonyoung, Yujin, Chaewon and maybe Haerin.

Dark horses for me are Liz, Hyein and Ningning (out of Korea).

Yuqi is already a proven solo success, if only because of her massive popularity in China.

I voted Yuqi, but I wouldn't even call it potential. She could leave (G)I-DLE today and be continue to see success in China, she's set already.

Karina will also do great.

Maybe Yuqi? She is good singer, rapper and have unique voice

None even Soyeon’s solo debut didn’t do numbers I see more like Jessie she’ll depend on virality.

Yujin I see her having a successful acting career.

Yunjin id say internationally despite the music being mid her streams are good, she charted on melon and has one of the most streamed k-pop songs this year.

People who are saying Karina and WY are really delulu there’s a difference between being popular in your group and as a soloist, winter has definitely the most potential.

Successful solo is depending on when the solo is gonnna drop during their peak popularity or not and also depends on how good the song actually

but usually how successful Solo debut is determined by Korean charting so I'm quite sure winter has the most potential because :

- I think SM will give her solo first since she is main vocal along with Ningning

-Among aespa, her solo is anticipated the most by Gp

- Koreans liking her vocal tone very much

-Her singing content always getting high views and most comments are written in Hangul

- She has big fanbase in Korea

Not having Hanni as an option is certainly a choice

Music wise:

Karina and winter are in sm tho, no female sm solo but Taeyeon has done well (joy a lil but did she ever get a cmb???). Sm take to long to debut their female solos or they simply don't care

Wy and yujin are extremely popular but who knows if that will translate to music

All could do well in other areas but I mentioned music bc it's the most difficult, many 2nd/3gen female idols still have cfs but they just don't chart

Nn will do well in china obv, but who knows if she will decide to have a music career there bc some leave to china to just act, go to variety and get cfs

Yunjin already leading internationally, but I don't see potential in the rest of them because there is no Blackpink or BTS type of group yet.

Man, I love when Kpop stans don't want to do research and calling Idols flop, when they're in the TOP10 already. 🤣

Before I show you something. My list. Yuqi, Winter, Karina, and Hyein should be on this list. She's the best in Newjeans, and she has the potential to become a soloist like IU, not as massive but still.

I think many of you're confusing short-term success with long-term. Solo career are 1% about charting, because in Kpop, there's like 5 or 6 soloists who can be on the TOP100 on Melon or any other streaming platform. That's how Kpop works. If an Idol group soloist can be on the TOP100, it's already a massive achievement.

Anyway. This is just 2024.

Some other reality check for you about soloists.

Best-selling Albums on Hanteo - KOREAN SALES 

How many soloists do you see? Not much. The average sales for a Kpop soloist is 300-600K. Charting is basically nonexistent.

Top 100 Best-selling Artists on Hanteo (2003~2022.02.27) - KOREAN SALES 

GIDLE Yuqi and LSFM Yunjin is the only 2 idols i can see that can surpass/on par with their group as a soloist, with Yuqi on SK China and Yunjin on international side..

Aespa Karina - Music-wise not really, i can see here doing great in modeling/ variety.

Winter - Decent solo singing career, comparable to wendy i guess. Both her and Karina are in SM and they are sh*t in promoting solo careers.

Wonyoung - I can see her having a decent singing career since she's popular and modeling is her bread n butter, so ppl who will see her modeling works will probably look at her album releases + she's still young whenever IVE disband

Chaewon - She's gonna be 28 when lsfm disband so it will really depends on how the group's performance on their last year ends..

Hyein - Im not sure about her.. On one side, we see UI praising her voice but then on the other side, i cant really picture her doing solo on a big trot stage since she has this fresh/very inexperience vibe.. I guess its too early to predict

Out of that list I think Karina has the best chance to succeed. Her being popular in China and being an it girl should help her a lot.

In terms of sales I think Yuqi and NingNing have a huge advantage due to being Chinese. Also, it helps they're both in very popular groups. Yuqi already proven she can get an insane amount of sales with her latest solo selling over 500k units.

I think many are sleeping on Miyeon because she's got a lot of talent as a vocalist and she seems to be very popular. I can picture her being similar to Tayeon in regard of being a soloist.

Overall, I think many acts from popular groups can move a lot of units, but unsure how long their solo careers will be, and sales decline once once group disband or moves on.

Def Karina and Winter. Give them a good song. Winter has more chances due to being called Taeyeon 2.0 and her voice allowing her more range than Karina. These two and Ningning in China 's futures are secuuuuureeed, baby

Soyeon is overrated in terms of public support. She IS talented, even more than everyone here but that doesn't mean she will succeed in charts and sales over others. She's the type where people will yap how she's more deserved and more talented but won't really stream her music. Also her voice is jarring and rap alone won't take her to the top. That's why she needs her members' vocals to get there.

Yujin feels like the type to be popular but not in the way where public desperately needs her to be solo like it happened to Taeyeon. Like she will chart decently and maybe get to top 5 or even 1 if the song is liked by Koreans. But not instantly straight to the top 20. Her future is variety and acting and she's already huge in one of them

It's the opposite for Wonyoung. People will def tune in for her but she's not talented. She doesn't have a voice for solo. She needs people to sing for her so she can shine otherwise being alone highlights her weakness which is the lack of singing skills. Her voice is too nasal for singing and she already looks like the human form of panic attack during any ive encore so she will stick to acting while occasionally releasing cash grab from her fans.

Chaewon def has a chance to shine.

Maybe Hanni? I like newjeans girls but none of the popular Korean ones can be a solo material. I can already see Haerin trying acting and getting bashed. Hyein can be I guess but her face already gives Hyewon junior 2.0 in the making and she's already the unpopular one. Danielle and Hanni are the only ones who could shine but Danielle is unpopular among Koreans and Hanni is not Korean so idk if she will stick to releasing songs in Korean so only the future will tell
