I mean its a cute track but the entire era just feels... uneventful, it doesn't feel grand like the ReVe Festival trilogy
Anyone else feel like "Queendom" came and went?

thank god, i thought i was the only one

the whole MV was low budget sounded like a title a rookie gg would release

the whole MV was low budget sounded like a title a rookie gg would release
all i can say is that i saw people saying it's better than "Psycho"....
-
I kind of agree with you the anticipation for the comeback and the teasers they released for the archive had more hype then Queendom, a lot expected something huge from them it's the first comeback after the massive success of Psycho and the return of both Wendy and Irene but the hype quickly died out after the release of this song, maybe the group will comeback with something better
-
the song is a bop and the mv is so cute
but i agree about the fact that it felt uneventful
considering that it was RV 7th years anniversary + the comeback of Wendy and Irene after a hiatus
i thought that we'll be drown under new content but besides the queendom restaurant we didn't have anything else
also the whole Mystic store video really hyped me, it really felt like SM was going to exploit the concept till the end, but we got tons of teaser with the cat etc... and then SM did nothing with the mystic store concept besides pictures and video and it was a big let down
-
all i can say is that i saw people saying it's better than "Psycho"....
It is better than Psycho though Psycho was ok but boring
-
-
just like the teasers - Queendom closed - something "new" is coming
-
I agree.
At first, I didn't like Queendom I got bored of it, but I'm liking it now.
But yeah, 2 years for this?
-
-
I think that was the plan as Queendom was a epilogue I think their next comeback will be bold
-
i guess it's because of the music
like the album and the tt weren't bad but not ground breaking, impactful or interesting enough to keep everyone talking
like for example people couldn't shut up about zzb or psycho for months since one was very weird and strange and the other was so perfect, same for the b-sides, the reve festival in general has some of the best b-sides rv ever released
-
on allkpop? fuck yes
most reveluv switch their fave to aespa
and i understand why theres not much thread about them despite their first comeback in more than year...
because loyal reveluv become lazy to make new thread (including me). i mean whats the purpose of making them if only 3-4 reveluv that hyping the thread
but twitter is still crowded with red velvet
-
Expectations and hype during teasers were too high. People thought the cb was going to feel unique, it was just a standard cute concept with Steven Universe inspired sound
The thing is RV doesn’t have that much time left for a “wait, they’ll come back with something better next”. Two more years of heir contract extension will go by fast. Aespa is the priority now and despite the members being happy to work together they know their solo careers are more important now.
-
Honestly, It's not Red Velvet's fault, I've feeling it with K-pop as a whole this year, with a few exceptions.
-
I was underwhelmed by it. Maybe they wanted something low pressure for the comeback.
-
Agreed I don't know also why they decided to release a mini album since its been two years plus they seem not to be promoting on variety shows and just doing music shows? Seems kinda lazy promotion to me tbh
-
-
..I don't even consider it an "era", just an album. Perhaps SME will do a repack. All this time, I thought SME would have polished it up more instead of freezing it for all this time then just "thawing it out" later.
Something I think was so badly missing from the current batch of songs were the group's signature harmonies. I can't mentally recall memorable harmonies from this album compared to some of their previous singles and catalog album cut songs.
-
Wait I thought I'm the only one who thought that. Queendom is a bop, but it gets boring and fades. If they released a Red track like Red Flavor or Russian Roulette, it would have been much better.
I was so hyped about Queendom but it was kind of a disappointment.

Ya kinda the hype died too soon
-
all i can say is that i saw people saying it's better than "Psycho"....
that was me :shyy:

all i can say is that i saw people saying it's better than "Psycho"....
really???
different strokes for different folks I guess
-
Is it over? I honestly felt like they just announced it a few days ago. Did the days past that quickly or did they literally make zero impact?
-
It felt dull...
-
all i can say is that i saw people saying it's better than "Psycho"....
that’s cap. Psycho their best song.
-
-
its a great song but such a forgettable era imo
-
i really like the song but yeah i agree
Me too
queendom cult unite!!!
-
-
-
-
felt like a debut song with the member names in the MV and all that
-
good song. but, (for me) queendom just felt flat compared to psycho, bad boy, etc.
-
It felt like a filler era, hopefully there's another release with a bigger budget next time
-
the comeback is forgettable
-
It was a bit underwhelming if I must admit. I love red velvet, but the song just really isn’t my style. But people are saying that it was just a filler era, so maybe we’ll get something else! < 3

Jeez I actually love queendom. It’s charting good, has amazing sales, a tiktok trend and music show wins. I can’t believe some people are calling it unimpactful when it’s actually very succesfull. The only thing I agree with is the lack of other content like variety shows. That I understand people are disappointed with.
-
I loved this comeback
