I think this is BangPD's dream, to create the "Samsung" of Korean entertainment with him/Hybe on top of course. I think he wants a united industry that can continue to expand globally. I think his rapproachment with MBC is a sign of this. His biggest rivals are Kakao, CJ, and Naver, they're the only ones big enough to stand in his way, although CJ and Naver could end up as allies tbh. The Battle of Pelennor Fields will likely be between Hybe and Kakao, it will be for the soul of Kpop.
Also, this idea of consolidating under one entity is par for the course for Asia's version of capitalism, corporate/crony capitalism where power tends to be explicitly centralized in a handful of companies like chaebol. Of course we have the same thing here, but at least we try to hide it by propping up the myth of the self made man, the "American Dream" where "anyone" can become a billionaire with just a li'l bit of hard work and elbow grease lol.

Yep, they are. I think Hybe and YG are actually close behind closed doors as well. They have that YGPlus deal going on between them.
The war could be:
Hybe-YG-Naver vs SM-Kakao
JYP, CJENM, and the other mid tiers are TBD as to where they will end up in this war. They could actually form a 3rd group tbh, a JYP-CJENM-Cube-RBW etc alliance.
A bit annoyed. I only stan New Jeans and Enhypen, the rest are not my style. I'm not upset over it, I just kind of want the golden days of the big 3 back, SM, JYP, and YG. Sooner or later HYBE will take over everything, and then K-pop will kind of be boring, I don't want every big group to be just from HYBE.

I get what you are trying to say. But:
1) They started from the bottom and now they are where they are (read: bts made them). This is the success story everyone wants to hear. Other small companies cannot achieve what hybe achieved, obviously, but they can become more successful and in time debut more groups and give more variety.
2) hybe groups don't sound the same, there is diversity in sound

Groups from big 3 are privileged, they don't have to worry about stans, they have them even before they debut. Companies are to blame for giving them dull music.
Look at the babymonster debut song and how many people checked it out. Coming from big 3 (4) the hype was high. And then we heard the song. How can yge think they can compete with newjeans? Or ive, that's not even from big 4. Nmixx debut was atrocious, I'm not even bothering with their new releases, for me they are ruined for good. Itzy hasn't had a good title track in a while.
Sm is doing fine but yge and jyp needs to change something because things aren't going the way they would like.
The most worrying thing is especially what Bang PD said recently about Kpop's "K" and the increasing of English lyrics in the songs. Not really the number of group they will debut.
Whatever happens, the music industry in Korea will face a major turning point in the next months/years.

No matter what he say or do, I don't see how that's gonna affect other kpop companies or the kpop genre as a whole
It is not HYBE who is destroying kpop, it is the album distributors (which create many pre-sales in fictitious stores to support sales and returns later) and companies that manage multimedia services to make sajaegi. Before, Kpop groups were not limited to achievements or surpassing a certain group, so there was no pressure to create or break records, plus there was musical variety and the music charts were organic, now the song does not matter, it only matters to buy the song's place to make it a success.
I don't think monopolies or near-monopolies in any branch are particularly good, it's a killer for variety and nurturing of creativity.
But as long as that isn't the case, I've no problem with it. Some company has to be the biggest, it's good when companies rotate in that aspect. Keeps things fresh and entertaining

It's just a whole process if you look the last release of the most popular group they've more and more english lyrics. Their popularity proved to the whole industry that no matter what Koreans say, the reality is that they still consume it if the songs are in English or with a lot english lyrics, and that content in English is better exported abroad.
Meanwhile the groups who still sing only in Korean or with huge majority of Korean lyrics doesn't become popular at all. And are losing momentum.
I dont care for any of the groups tbh, at least their title songs.
The best group title song since NJ debut has been OMG by New Jeans. That's how mediocre Hybe music has been, a bonafide NJ anti like me has to put a NJ song as the best title song from Hybe in the past 18 months. The best overall title song is Jin's solo, Astronaut, it's criminal how underrated it is even by Army omg.
Unless i'm forgetting something, those are the only title songs in the past 18 months from Hybe that rank at 8 or higher.
If you include B sides, than we can start talking about three top tier LSRFM songs (Fire, Fearnot, Flash) from their latest album, plus elite tier Impurities.

Nothing new, we had DSP and SM at first and then SM, JYP and YG.
I think it's more the case that Red Velvet (and I think also other SM groups like NCT and Aespa?) are less restricted to just 1 or 2 style/concept genres than most other groups, so people will be less surprised if they have songs that are different from previous ones.
I see zero similarities between NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM and fromis_9. I understand everyone's concern over a monopoly, but their girl groups are nothing alike and have distinctly different sounds and aesthetics.
