is IVE digging their own grave with the triple-title track songs for next month comeback ?

i think the Monday-Friday-Friday thing is pretty smart, cause it'll tell the company exactly how ready they are for an international break-through under the same conditions

other than that, promoted IVE songs always do well. their b-sides usually get forgotten otherwise, so this strategy should work

If anything they are finally doing the right approach which is investing in a lot of songs and try to create good music. Eventually GP will pick up one or even two of them and they will have a hit

I do agree that this strategy is risky. OTOH, they are the only act to do better with their followup than with their first prerelease. Kitsch did 490k UL, but I AM did 580k UL, which is unheard of these days.

Overall though, i think this is rare. Pink Venom did a lot better than Shut Down even though most folks seemed to like SD more. Same with HYLT over Ice Cream and Lovesick Girls, everyone loved LSG but HYLT holds most of the records. Ditto and Superstar did way better than OMG and ETA.

Personally i would have just stuck to one prelease and one title. While keeping their third song as a normal B side but being prepared to give it a promotional push like what Hybe did for LSRFM's Bluebeard just in case that third song started going viral.

A good direction for me, as it's high time for companies to promote multiple tracks no matter the outcome; regardless if it's title, lead, special, pre-release, or B-side.

How is that bad.. starship is finally promoting them properly. Its the same company that didnt want to release dance practices for blue blood and royal. Im not gonna question them now they're finally promoting ive like thet should

Anyway we shall see the results in late september/october, for now its pointless to predict anything

Gfriend always had a predictable concept until Fingertip and thats when gp started to not care about them. Same happened to Twice.

Ive have always released different concepts and songs each time and rn is no different.

Either Way is a soft concept.

Off The Record will have Love Dive vibes.

And Baddie is aiming for girl crush.

How is gp supposed to get tired when they will release 3 songs completely different from each other? And with the release dates, Starship already decided one in specific that they hope will get interest from gp.

OP probably talking about THE ALBUM. It has 2 prerelease + 1 title track (similar amount as Newjeans debut and Get Up but ador call them all 'title tracks'

Um what is this lie? Cookie reached a peak at 8 on melon and top 10 on all charts iirc. That’s not “not doing well” lol it might not have been a bona fide mega hit but it certainly did very well for what it was.

You’re right that cool with you didn’t perform as well as nj’s other title tracks, but you missed the fact that in cool with you’s absence nj had another top 10 hit song in new jeans - aka the intro song in their album lol, so in the end nj still managed to get 3 hits this cb, it’s just that one of them isn’t the expected title track but another song instead. That’s the safety net in pushing a wide range of songs to the public

To be honest, if you see how starship totally didnt promote b sides on music shows, you know thay they dont give a damn about having a successful B sides.

Blue blood choreo is done purely for the fanconcert Prom Queen. Royal was done for showcase and some special performance only. They didnt want any b side take away the attention from title tracks (every company has different strategy, they are not Hybe who want to milk every single song)

Ice cream was top10 too but many regard it as flop so i put Cookie in same league (but let's be real, cookie was so much more promoted + have the potential, screw the weird lyrics)

Ps: New Jeans is not a title according to ADOR. I love that song to dead though it has potential if it is slightly longer

I’ve could have had more hits if they did this strategy so no they don’t I saw people saying the same thing with NJ and they have two songs in the top 10. The Gp not gonna drop them because they’re releasing more music

I think Starship wanted to promote NOT YOUR GIRL as follow up. The tracklist actually only has NOT YOUR GIRL as the other song in full uppercase (might be reach but who knows). Subsequently they released a special MV for the song (using footage from I AM and I'VE IVE album). Probably the plan was scrapped as Rei was on long hiatus + WAVE release was around the corner already, else we could have gotten a new MV + extended promotion for the song

NOT YOUR GIRL is the perfect concert ending song 😭😭😭

Depends on what your definition of a b-side is.

My definition is any single that is not the lead single and is on the album, which is a definition I apply across the board.

I actually feel like this will do good for them though. Their b-sides are actually going to receive more attention in this approach.
