SM shouldn't have debuted Yeri in Red Velvet

I'ma be honest. Without Yeri red velvet wouldn't be able to do cute concepts well. It would be awkward. Yeri fits bright concepts the best.

yeah irene and seulgi are very calm and chill, wendy and joy it depends sometimes they can be very hyper, but are usually quite laid back.. yeri is the one that is very sociable and she communicates a lot with the fans

i think the group is better off for having somebody like her, it brings more dynamic to red velvet

rv songs would’ve sounded better with her voice than yeri’s

As a rv fan myself I agree to extent. Yeri should have debuted with the girls in 2014 not join later. People will say "but she was young" yet it doesn't matter with sm since Taemin and Jisung debuted when they were borderline children.

I think Seungyeon was meant to debut with RV instead of Joy actually. It Would have put them all within

4 years of each other and they could have leaned fully into the Unnie concept. I don't know if Red Velvet actually was supposed to add more members after Yeri but you can't say Yeri wasn't planned because the SMRookies video that she was first revealed where she watch the Happiness MV came out like a week after Red Velvet debuted. It was clearly some kind of strategy

If not rv she would have to debut with aespa and she'd be the oldest there. She suits being the cute and witty Maknae. I can't imagine her in aespa heavy sci fi girl crush concept. That suits people like Krystal or Jessica or joy more. I'm glad she debuted in rv...the red concepts suited her well.

Yeri has special unique vocals perfect for harmonies. Without her, the beautiful Red Velvet sound and flavour would be very different, in fact we wouldn't have it at all. Yeri adds the extra something special to their vocals.

For harmonies, strong vocalists aren't the only important thing. Yeri is like Snsd Seohyun for harmonies.

At least that's my #1 importance of Yeri in RED VELVET.

i love yeri. yeri is cute sweet and pretty. lovely vocals when she actually gets a chance to have a nice part in a song. you know who i wish the didn't debut? wendy's racist ass. great vocalist! but everytime i think about those interviews (ifykyk, not elaborating b/c i'm not arguing with white kpop stans LMFAO) i wish she just never became an idol and stayed irrelevant in canada.

I agree and I disagree. Like there are different options.

The first option is that SM didn't debut Yeri in RV.

BUT they debuted sm rookie in 2018 or something with Lami Yeri Koeun Jungyeon Herin Hina and Yiyang.

The second option is that they debuted Yeri WITH RV in 2014. And no sm rookie gg.

And without Joy. I'm gonna explain why.

Joy is as perfect as unadapted in RV. First and foremost because she is at last 10 to 15 cm taller than all the other members. (making them like tiny). While OT4 with Yeri is visually much more balanced and coherent.

Moreover without Joy, Yeri shines much more and is basically the only one is charge of cuteness and freshness but next to the sexy cutie fresh queen aka joy, she looks invisible. Poor her. Her beauty is overshadowed by Irene and her freshness by Joy.

OR the 3rd option, Yeri was debuted but as an ACTRESS. Which would have actually suited her MUCH better. She definitely displayed interesting and promising acting skills (better than Joy actually until now at last).

And honestly, her stage presence is mediocre almost inexistent specially next to Joy. I don't know but she shined much more in RV stages when Joy was missing. Specially during Rookie promotions. Her face is gorgeous and her beauty more consistent than Joys too.

So OT4 Yeri looks really good in my opinion.

I was gonna why would you say that about Yeri but thinking about it, it would've been really nice if that happened too. Yeri debuting with the other SM Rookies Girls like Hina, Koeun, Herin and Lami. Yeri easily fits in with the vibe of all of them and she could've been the leader. Such a missed opportunity. I will forever miss Lami too
