snsds suspicious youtube views are blocking newjeans from getting their first pak

But I don't think it's suspicious, snsd just have a bigger fandom who are stronger at streaming. It's just unfortunate that newjeans and snsd came back around the same time

They're at number 2 as well, and apparently the gap in numbers in South Korea wasn't that large. I think this has been the only downfall of the song being released on YouTube before streaming platforms, the views just eventually slow down

New Jeans released 4 videos for Hype Boy really splitting the views up.

YT music is second only to Melon in SK music market share so adding it as a category makes sense, what doesn't make sense is the weekly update.

Also people forget but SNSD is huge and still has a huge fandom, they just haven't been active as a whole since members went into different industries.

why is it suspicious tho ? It only has 3.94 m filtered views.. the gap is not even that large..

SNSD has 100% real stream no ads (as shown by their debut on YouTube Global) but you have this fan of a group that debuted yesterday calling their views suspicious.

NJ had bad luck. The gap is rather small. But i feel the yt views did get a bit affected because of it's earlier release.

I just realised that top 2 is still really good considering they don’t really attend variety shows. less exposure.

yes it's funny snsd was literally #1 girl group in Korea for many years and people think their fanbase is small or something

Blackpink is releasing next week but it's a Friday release so they'll get the whole week. So let's see. But after this they'll be completely blocked as bp, ive and twice are all going to take up spots.

Deffo but it is well worth it since their strategy has helped them clean up elsewhere.

Did not think I'd see another group debut with a RAK but here we are, even if they don't get the PAK they are still gonna be legendary.

Only 5 other groups have it, 2ne1, Miss A, Winner, Ikon and BP. Of those 2 came from a very popular survival show, 1 after a collab song with a monster BG (lollipop dropped after Haru Haru and Lies which were both were huge songs) and 1 after 2 years worth of teasers and a CEO we all hate promising they were the pretty version of another legendary group he put on hiatus then disbanded, oh and two members having feats on another legendary BG's songs. Can't remember if there was anything going on when Miss A debuted to get them extra attention but yeah. All had extra attention and the great songs made great use of it.

Also since when did YouTube count for Korean music charts? The Korean charting system is a total mess, there nothing logical or consistent about it

I guess you're forgetting how huge SNSD were and still are in SK, and we've literally waited for this comeback for years.

And odn't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put down NJ here, it's unfortunate that they debuted around the same time. But don't underestimate the power that Soshi still have.

The gap is so small that Bluejeans can surpass SNSD for the current tracking period, which means Bluejeans could get #1 on YT by this upcoming Saturday/Sunday, August 20-21, when YT numbers come out for the current tracking period.

Then it gets really complicated though because by this time, Pink Venom will be out and could be blocking them on Bugs/Genie Realtime at least.

And even if they fend off Pink Venom, they still have Afterlike to contend with literally 3 days later. Then Twice 4 days after that. All constantly blocking them on Bugs Genie realtime charts.

Then they will probably end up losing YT #1 because Pink Venom would take over as #1 on Youtube when the updated chart comes out on August 27-28. And BP could hold on to that #1 Youtube for weeks, even months.

While how instiz implemented the youtube chart is stupid, including spotify makes even less sense, youtube is the second biggest music service in korea now and competes with melon. Spotifiy barely reaches 1% market share.
