Will 2022 not be a good year for kpop?

to a certain extent i feel the same way. a lot of misses and not enough hits for me. but it's march, the year is young and hopefully things get better.

I think this year's been great so far

kep1er,taeyeon,apink,enhypen,treasure,stayc,tempest,g-idle,billlie,viviz and most recently skz all released stuff I enjoyed

But different strokes for different folks I guess.

INVU album was all I needed to make 2022 a great K-Pop year for me, and I'm sure Red Velvet's korean and japanese comeback will make it even better And so will aespa and hopefully Blackpink and IU

They may have less acts but so far the music is good better than last year imo. Billlie are serving, Young Luv is #1 album so far and R2U is SOTY, I’m not a BG fan but blessed cursed is really one of the best 2022 songs, Kep1er has the b-side. Blackpink soon.

As long as it is for BTS and Aespa, I don't care about anyone else.

Overall we didn't have a lot of big acts comeback, so let's wait till june to declare 2022 a flop or a bop.

I have less in my yearly list than I did this time last year, but there's a lot still on the way for my tastes: new EXO, NCT Dream, RV, Purple Kiss and Suho, plus rumored comebacks from Xiumin, Kai, WayV and (I'm assuming) NCT 127.

I think the difference for me last year is these first three months were more front-loaded with my faves or artists I'm interested in and then it only grew throughout the year. By this time last year, I had a Japanese release from Baekhyun, a Japanese release from NCT 127, a new album from Colde, a great new album from SHINee, a new release from WayV, a new EP from Woodz and a great debut EP from Purple Kiss. And another Baekhyun mini was a week away! That's not counting cool singles that made me check out artists (Kangta and U-Know, I'm looking at you.)

In contrast this year, I have a scattering of singles or several songs from an album that I liked (like several Billlie songs, several Taeyeon songs) but not really full EPs/albums yet. SKZ is probably the closest to a full album. But just for context, I have 22 songs in my 2022 list. My 2021 list had 41 songs by the same time.

2021 only started to get good by May for me.

considering this data of mine, I think 2022 has some solid releases like OnlyOneOf's album, INVU, everything Billlie released so far, Stray Kids' ODDINARY, Max Changmin's album (Devil remains as the best title track released so far imo), etc.

I get they're not a lot, but still they're solid!

It will be glorious bc Taemin will be back and SHINee's enlistment will be behind them once and for all

2022 has been a great year for kpop, imo. we're still in march and already we've gotten really good albums fromis_9, yena, viviz, taeyeon, billlie, stayc, and rocket punch. and red velvet will more than likely join that list tomorrow.
