Today's Hidden Gem is Hot Baby by BESTie!
As you may or may not know, three of the members of BESTie were original members of EXID. There actually was a time in 2013/early 2014 when BESTie was more popular than EXID. We all know how that ended though. So BESTie isn't completely nugu, but among our small fandom, hardly anyone talks about Hot Baby. This song literally sounds like a Sistar song and Uji even sounds exactly like Hyolyn.
So BESTie quietly disbanded in like 2016/2017. I've never seen a more clear instance of a company dropping a girl group to promote a boy group. As soon as KNK debuted, BESTie never made a comeback again. The girls are still pretty active in the industry though, which is a good thing. Hyeyeon participated in The Unit and made it to the semi-finals despite virutally no screen time. She then made her solo debut as a trot singer. This year she was on Miss Trot 2 and actually made it to the finals! Uji has been active doing musicals. Dahye made her solo debut last year with a remake of Um Jung Hwa's Poison. She then made a solo comeback one month later.
