After Like was peak to me. Things... started going downhill after that, for me.
Rebel Heart is their best song, well maybe together with Kitsch
I like the members and they have solid b-sides. I think they peaked too early with their music. They most likely needed it to gain a lot of fans but the drop off in quality should be studied

Just because some people like some songs it doesn't make those songs better or worse
Doesn't make sense
Like if my favourite song from IVE is for example Love Dive do I say that IVE has been making shitty ass songs after that?
First of all the OP said " do you think" so it's asking people to give their PERSONAL OPINION !!!!!
So asking if people think previous songs were better isn't saying that everybody is sharing the same opinion
And second of all "better" doesn't mean the rest is shitty
Stop always going to the extreme
"Better" just means that the other song just aren't as good than the others
And literally if Love dive is your favorite song from IVE, it means that you consider love dive better than all their other songs
I suppose it comes down to personal taste but yea I like the first half of their title tracks more than the second half, but they have not released a bad tt.
I don't think it's better or it's not as good than it used to be
I would say it's less constant in quality
I personally think that from Eleven to after like it was a no mistake to me
I streamed hard every title track they released
And then it was more depending on the song
I didn't like I AM or kitsch for example neither accendio or the 3 title tracks from the baddie era
But i absolutely love Heya and Attitude (which is to me one of my favorite song from them)
So i can't say it was better before
Afterlike - Kitsch - I Am - I Want - Off the Record could be the greatest run of 4th generation in terms of promoted singles. These are A- to A++ songs and to do it consecutively like this...
Baddie, Heya, Accendio, Attitude were definitely a big step down. Rebel Heart is the best out of all the recent songs, that chorus really saves the day.
Well yes but accendio is really good

Ok noted with thanks

I am was their last good tt and peak of I’ve music. So yes.
Heya is still my favorite IVE title track.
I also enjoyed Rebel Heart, while Attitude was just okay for me. I didn’t really like any of the title tracks from the I’ve Mine EP. Their earlier releases from Eleven to I Am were all solid with no real misses. So for me, their recent releases have had higher highs, but also lower lows.
Haven't really been blown away since after like.
idk but after like is a bop that i HAVE to listen to every day and still not get bored of it..
Yes, and by quite a bit
everyone becomes selfmate eventually!!!
Yes. Their latest title tracks are still solid, but lack sparks and oomph compared to their earlier works.

It's possible that once you peak early, you're more or less competing against your past self. Their TTs are strong, but those hard-hitting songs become rather... stale (If want for a better word)? I think venturing into other genres might be a way to bring in new fans, but increase their profile a bit more, and solidify their legacy 😉 Interpolation worked wonders for them with After Like. Maybe they should do more of it? 🤔
Eleven - FLOP
Love Dive - BOP
After Like - BOP
Kitsch - BOP
I Am - BOP
Either Way - FLOP
Off the Record - FLOP
Baddie - FLOP
Heya - blop
Accendio - FLOP
Rebel Heart - FLOP
Attitude - BOP
Yeah I like their earlier discography.

I think we sometimes expect a hit after the other because they were delivering it, but maybe it was an exceptional situation
100%, but that's the case with most Kpop groups. After some time, Title Tracks are bland or bang average.
I compiled all the votes from this forum's "Bop or Flop" threads for IVE's Korean singles, and here's a chart of the results:

Overall, there's only a slight trend of decreasing song quality. My guess is that people's perceptions are simply being biased by how strong the trinity of "Love Dive", "After Like", and "I Am" were.
Note that "Accendio" was not included in my analysis, as there was no voting held for the song, surprisingly.

I'd be really curious seeing this for I-dle!

Good idea, especially in light of the response to their latest release. I'll plan to work on it later today. Do you (or Jasque-O-Part2) want to get a separate thread for that going?

Off the Record & Attitude also sampled old songs. But sadly they didnt get much love
Both songs are so catchy, too bad they underperformed
I like both their older and newer songs. Accendio was amazing. However, I think the older songs had a bit more of uniqueness and originality in them. Eleven innovated with that change of tempo in the chorus, Love Dive had that dreamy yet cunty electropop chorus and so many catchy lines, After Like sampled one of the most recognizable songs of all time and managed to make it's own, I Am was a loud, daring unapologetic epic anthem. Things started going downhill in Baddie era. Either Way was absolutely great, but broke that streak of undeniable hits IVE had. It felt more serious and personal so I understand why a lot of people who expected something fun and catchy were disappointed, as Either Way felt more like a b-side. Off the Record, similarly, as good as it was, didn't felt like IVE, and was too chill for their image. Another song that would probably be more appreciated as just as a b-side. And Baddie, finally... Well, the MV to begin with was very disappointing, as there was so many obvious similarities to Red Velvet MVs that it was almost embarrassing. Baddie is a cool, catchy song imo, but undoubtedly too repetitive and less inspired than IVE's previous singles! Heya suffered from the same repetitiveness even if it had some cool bits and the MV was spectacular, probably their best. Accendio was great, that one suffered from poor timing only imo. Rebel Heart is nice, but nowhere close to being as fun as catchy as IVE's previous stuff! Too repetitive and dare I say, formulaic - can totally understand why some people dislike it. Attitude, imo, is nice too, but again uninspired.
In short, I feel like ever since Baddie era IVE is relying more on formulas to keep their success instead of the original twists that their first singles used to have, and ironically that's what's hurting their popularity.

Yeah eleven-love dive-after like and iam run was immaculate, they don’t sound like each other but they fit Ive’s brand nowadays they rely too much on samples and they tried to replicate I am with rebel hearts. Ryan needs to go he’s so uninspired he’s a reason why LOONA’s music declined at some point. At least their albums are good but only fans care so.
