I don't think you can view streams in that way unless you look at global top 50 for that country but maybe I'm wrong. And even then it wouldn't be accurate. In any case, Twice has 8b streams on Spotify. So I find it hard to believe that Japan, Twice's biggest market, only contributes 320m (~4%) to that.

Kind of lol. Batter Up was a weird case where it wasn't promoted though, whereas Meow has had some pretty extravagant live stages so far. Meovv was seeming like a threat but their debut fell pretty flat imo, although I like Meow.

I mean if we're talking Korea only in 2024, it's obviously Aespa. Though it does feel like all it took was 1 mega hit from Aespa for everyone to suddenly forget IVE exists. For LSF they clearly aren't dependent on SK success nor are they targeting that market, so idk why their fans would care about that. Like babymonster not doing well in SK doesn't mean much, but if they started dropping in Indonesia I'd be worried lol.

I see this one all the time and I'm actually surprised how quick people are to say she can just be replaced with ease by someone else. I don't know a whole lot about the entertainment industry but I do know in my field there are people who are literally irreplaceable. People so skilled and experienced that even 10 less experienced people could not produce the same amount or quality of work they can. These are the type of people who live and breathe their job, and they are extremely rare. People who innovate and aren't bound by conceptual frameworks.

And even though I don't like MHJ, from what I've read about her contributions to the kpop industry, it does seem like she is one of these people. Within an industry like that, I'm sure these types are even more rare. So it's hard for me to believe when I see people saying she can be easily replaced with someone like it's no big deal. What do you think?

It's not impossible but I don't think it's likely at this point. And honestly can we just let these girls rest like dam. Also I really think people are not appreciating just how large Twice is in Japan. On YT at least, I saw they appeared on the JP weekly song charts over 900 times. They have songs charting in Japan at pretty much any given moment, so they don't need anything else!
